STURY MÅRVEJ SWEATER
.
As I‘ve mentioned, there are two versions to knit MÅRVEJ SWEATER: the soft one or the sturdy one.
.
Recently I‘ve mainly shown the soft one, so here comes the sturdy version. It is worked in two strands of Jensen Yarn by @isageryarn held together and has a more rustic appeal with a crisp stitch definition.
.
The main changes for the re-release, I‘ve made on the transition from the yoke to the body and sleeves. The finishing of the yoke’s colourwork section (using the ladderback jacquard technique) has become much smoother and less visible thanks to adding a short raglan section for the final increases.
.
Currently on our winter holidays in Denmark with masses of snow, the sturdy Mårvej is a reliable companion. I‘ve made this version a size bigger than usual for a more relaxed fit and some room for a shirt underneath.
.
Looking forward my visit at Isager in Tversted next week, which marks the return to the sweater’s home. And surely I‘ll carry some yarn treasures back home to turn them into new designs.

.
Thanks for your patience - I think it was worth taking the time and i‘m really happy with the result.
.
Also a big thank you to my testknitter team whose precious feedback helped me make the best possible version of the pattern.
.
As Sonia’s the weather allows for it, I’ll take a little trip to the Elbbrücken and take some pics of the sweater in its natural habitat.

FINAL SAMPLE ON THE WAY
.
Due to a short holiday trip, some sick days and a weekend of teaching workshops, I had to take a little break from this lovely project. But now I‘m back, determined to get things done at light speed.
.
This third sample of #brookjumper was necessary because I was only 95% satisfied with the second one (which is actually fabulous). But to publish a design as a pattern, it has to be perfect first, so future knitters will enjoy the work as well as the result and will hopefully wear and keep it for a long time. You can be sure that it‘s worth the wait!
.
For this version, I‘m using some beautiful Fynsk wool from @garnfarveriet - handdyed in walnut and indigo. The contrast colours are some leftovers from my stash (@sandnesgarn Tove held together with @isageryarn silk mohair, both black).
.
I‘ll happily start to calculate the sizes very soon, so the test phase is finally in sight - the call will follow.

INTROVERT HAT
.
Just a quick look at a small side project that I’ve been working on these days: the matching hat to my Introvert Sweater design.
.
I hadn’t seen my sweater sample in a long time as it was displayed at @mylys for quite a while. When I got it back, the yarn fascination hit me like the first day and I just had to knit something in this wonderful colourway (Aftenhimmel) of Høst by @camarosedk again. Contrast colour is a navy blue of their Økologisk Hverdagsuld.
.
Like the sweater, the hat is knitted from the wrong side and is turned inside out only in the end. This way, you get this beautiful tweed-like texture of purl stitches - except you don’t have to purl.
.
My first sample is knitted top-down. I often do this for hat prototypes because the depth can be adjusted more precisely. In the next step I’ll make another one bottom-up for the pattern version because it’s easier to knit that way and also the centre on top looks nicer with decreases instead of increases.

Just a little throwback to the making of BLÆST SCARF, my latest assigned pooling design with lots of randomly placed buttonholes.

I‘m excited to share the news that @Zakamiyarns are finally back with a new collection of stunning colourways for pre-order.

The two colours used for BLÆST SCARF are Kintsugi and Hojicha, both in fingering weight nsw-merino.
.
The perfect time of year for shawls and scarves is close and Blæst will be definitely my first choice this autumn.
.
The buttons on my sample are from @knapværkcom . You‘ll find a list of retailers on Lars Bjerre’s website. If you can’t find one near you, just contact him.

BACK TO THE BRIDGE
.
A few weeks ago, I felt like knitting a hat for a friend and decided to make him an ELBBRÜCKEN CAP which I designed two years ago to match the ELBBRÜCKEN PULLOVER design.
.
📐I had totally forgotten how much fun this unusual construction is to knit.
It works as follows:
- provisional cast-on
- crown worked flat with short rows
- crown closed with kitchener stitch
- folded brim worked in rounds
- Latvian braids on the brim
.
The hat can be done in only one day, using a single 50 g ball of @holstgarn Supersoft - this yarn has the most stunning colour palette and it‘s affordable, too.
.
Having already knit it in 4 different colours for myself, there are still countless colours waiting in my stash.
.
After having designed so many other projects since, I did not have all the details in mind, so I was surprised myself, how entertaining this project is - certainly not the last one I’ve made.
.
The pattern can be found on Ravelry and my website. It has also been published in the German version of @theknittermag 76/2025

BROOK JUMPER, 2ND SAMPLE
.
It‘s finshed, washed and worn with a lot of pride these days. Got compliments from two strangers in the streets for it just today.
.
It was really worth the effort knitting it for a second time to sort out some little imperfections.
.
The boatneck has moved more towards the front of the colourwork stripe, which creates a natural neck shaping and doesn‘t interfere with the pattern flow.
.
The shoulder shaping on front and back is worked less wide and there are decreases to give the sleeves a slight tilt. This way, there is less fabric at the underarms which used to be an issue with the first version.
.
Took some first pics today and will start calculating the sizes next week, so the pattern writing can start and the test call will come soon.
.
But first, I‘m going to Düsseldorf, where I‘ll be teaching some workshops at @wollmeisterei.flingern this weekend. Of course, my new BROOK JUMPER will join me.
.
Hope to meet you there or at one of my other upcoming events this autumn.

FJORDENHUS WRAP COMING UP NEXT
.
Autumn is around the corner and so is the release of @schoppelwolle ’s annual magazine #knitthecat
.
The 18th issue features my new design FJORDENHUS WRAP, which is inspired by the artisanal brick work on the facades of the Fjordenhus building, located at the harbourfront of the city of Vejle in Denmark. Or rather IN the harbour, to be more precise.
.
The wrap is worked in 7 different colours of the beautifully soft carded yarn ”Senior“ and ”Seniorita“ - partly bright, partly muted.
.
Can’t wait to show more and finally reveal the full design that I‘ve kept secret for almost a year now.
.

STEEKING BROOK JUMPER
.
After knitting the colourwork stripe for the sleeves and shoulders in the round, it has to be steeked in the middle where the ribbed cuffs will be added later.
.
Basically very simple, yet always exciting because once you‘ve cut it, there is no way back.
.
Next step will be closing the sleeves with a three-needle-BO. After that, the body will be worked down in rounds.
.
