SpiraLogics 3 🌀

We’re moving from asking, "What is SpiraLogics?" to exploring what happens when we actually use it — in our lives, our work and the systems we move inside of.

What might become visible that we couldn’t see before? What new pathways open up?

Excited to find out together.

Why does the congoree curl itself up when threatened?

And what can it teach us about adaptation and survival?

In my latest SpiraLog, I follow the questions down some unexpected paths.

The conversation continues ...

One of the most gratifying things about our first SpiraLogics conversation was what happened after.

Friends would send me clips and quotes.

They would drop a spiral-shaped epiphany in the middle of a conversation with a smile.

And not just "Oh, look a spiral". More a "Look at this thing that operates spirally to achieve this particular end in this particular situation."

We are inside something... and it is cohering.

We'd love to have you join us.

Sometimes the answers to our most pressing challenges—from the individual to the collective—are right there in front of us.

We just have to tweak the lens so we can see them.

What do the tango, Trinidad Carnival, galaxies and the fascial system in our bodies have in common?

And if they do share an underlying structure, what functions does it serve?

What can we learn from it?

Thanks to everyone who showed up for last evening's "Poems for Turbulent Times".

I hope that you were reminded of the power of community --- across geography and time, about the strength and resilience of our Caribbean legacy, and of the necessity of keeping our hearts tender as we strengthen our arms.

For me, poetry is one of the few things that passes cleanly through all the filters and walls to the heart of the matter, to our common humanity.

Thank you for sharing this moment with me. by @ruthosman

When the world is too much,
poems invite us
to listen,
to bear witness,
to hold and allow ourselves
to be held.

To expand into our shared humanity.

Poems for turbulent times.
Join us.

PS
If you’d like to share a poem (yours or one you love) please message me before the session so I can shape the flow. If you prefer to just listen, that's ok too. by @ruthosman

A line might be the shortest distance between two points, but who said we need to get anywhere quickly?

There is a tyranny hidden beneath optimization and productivity schedules... an allegiance to a way of being that conquers and extracts from the substrate of our lives without giving back. Without allowing for rest, decomposition, germination, the things that happen slowly in the dark.

What if we allowed ourselves to spiral? To retreat and return? To rest and rise? What if, instead of shackling ourselves to the railway of progress, we moved in alignment with the rhythms of life?

Thanks to the luminous @ariellemjohn for sharing so freely.

@javaughn_mf, your take on Arielle's work tilted the lens in the most refreshing way.

And to those who came out, your presence was everything.

We can't wait to see you again! by @ruthosman
