I used to think I had to build a different kind of discipline for each thing. Like running-me and filming-me and building-me were separate people who each needed their own motivation talk.

They’re not. It’s the same thing, just pointed at different stuff. Whatever gets my legs moving at 5am is the same thing that keeps me at the desk at 3am, when it’d be easier to just close the laptop.

So I stopped asking myself how to get disciplined at the new thing. Just pointed the thing I already had somewhere else. That’s it. That’s the whole trick.

Just got back from my first ever running event. 14km along the Great Ocean Road @greatoceanroadrunfest

But honestly the run was the least interesting part.
I did it with @rezindariendavid who I met online three years ago. One DM. Kept in touch on and off. Yesterday was the first time we actually met in person.

And on the drive back we were talking about how that one message led to this to the conversations, to the perspectives we swapped, to showing up at a start line together.

Every connection you make is a new path. You don’t always know where it goes. Sometimes it takes three years to find out.
He challenged me to start posting every day again. So here I am, still in my car, posting this before I even get home.
Not for the algorithm. Just to keep showing up — for myself, and to remind you to do the same.
Keep going. 🤝
