The RW TRX Carbon Fiber Body

Undoubtedly the most grueling and difficult part of the process while developing our trucks is the carbon fiber body work. It’s also the most rewarding when finished.

Although we pride ourselves at being on the leading edge of technology using lasers, CNC machines, and the best cad software available, there is something about a hand shaped body, built by a particular person that can’t be achieved with a computer.

There are well over 4000 man hours in labor building the tooling that produces this bodywork. Its aggressive lines and sharp styling produce a look and feel you won’t find anywhere else. The hood and fender vents help exhaust heat and air trapped under the hood.

The wheel well openings seamlessly intersect the front bumpers as they should providing a finished look with a fit that is second to none. by @rw_offroad

For as long as I can remember I’ve been fascinated with exotic vehicles. Vehicles that speak volumes without saying anything. From the screams of a V-12 Ferrari to the thunder of an American big block chevy I’ve always been drawn to fast cars and trucks. My career path as a motocross racer, turned professional off road racer has lead me down a life long road of building trucks that are somewhere right in between whats described above. Half of the trucks character is it race inspired suspension geometry, agile handling, and high performance abilities. The other half is its bold look, loud exhaust, elegant body lines, and luxury styling you wont find anywhere else.

I’m of the opinion that the automotive world has changed much like the rest of the world. There are few things still timeless and high quality. Truck building has become a quick, click, buy now, mail order, mass produced, low quality, high volume industry. The days of legendary men like Carrol Shelby and Enzo Ferrari building bespoke, almost perfect, timeless vehicles are nearly over. It’s become downright difficult to do it this way in a world full of consumers that are ok with average everything. Average looks, average performance, average price.

We hold steadfast to the days of a legendary time. We build every aspect of these elite vehicles in house, using all American made materials, paying skilled craftsmen a respectable wage to give every part they build everything they’ve got. There is no average here.
We painstakingly hand shape the carbon fiber bodywork to seamlessly intercept the aggressive bumpers, building each chassis and
a-arms with the same precision that goes into our trophy truck, and final assembling every truck like they will be driven by generations to come.

It is my intention to build you a truly timeless truck, that someday you’ll pass on to your children. I’m optimistic with a lifelong dedication to my craft, someday these trucks will carry the value of Shelbys GT500s , Ferraris F40s, and Mickey Thompsons race cars.

Check out @robbywoods TRX suspension kit.

The TRX from the factory is a hard to beat truck from a drivetrain stand point. Supercharged 6.2, 8 speed paddle shifted trans, big differential they haul the mail.

But the suspension leaves a lot to be desired. When people ask if they should upgrade the engine or suspension first i ask them if they can drive their truck full speed off road?

Although we don’t recommend that, one of our 3 options of suspension will make the truck much more well rounded. From a direct Bolt on upper lower arm kit, a direct bolt on race grade kit(coming soon) , and a full blown weld on race kit (shown) nothing handles the off road like an RW equip truck.

With an extensive off road racing backround no other suspension manufacture has the racing pedigree we do. With 8 pro 4 unlimited championships (in our trucks) vehicle dynamics is what we do. Our trucks handle the desert second to none, and have the best pavement manners you’ll experience.

Our geometry is designed from scratch around a 40.00 tire. These are not longer arms and big shocks. This is a race inspired suspension utilizing perfect scrub radius, Ackerman, KPI, and perfectly matched spring rates and valving.

Not all suspension systems are created equally. What surprises our customers the most is how agile and firm these trucks are on the pavement. While long travel suspension carries a reputation of having excessive body roll and poor daily driving characteristics… our trucks handle as they should, like sports cars.

You can’t buy this kind of marketing, or at least at this stage of our business we couldn’t afford to.

@dangerboydeegan is the tip of the flame hottest thing in motocross right now and has been for the last 3 seasons straight. What I admire about Deegan is in a world of sellouts who do exactly what they are told, he does exactly what he wants.

Much like I preach, he lives and dies by his sword. If he tells you he’s going for the championship he damn well means he’s either gonna win or take you and sometimes himself out trying. There’s not an ounce of him worried about what you think, or the repercussions of his riding.

He’s a young American bad ass, that lives like all of us wanted to when we were 19. If you watch what this kid is doing and have anything but admiration you’re probably just jealous. He talks all the shit, backs it up and wins all the races, and it appears he’s got all the spoils that come with it. Cars, houses, women, he’s “that guy” right now like ole kid rock said it isn’t talking shit if you back it up.

@jaredjstar25 has a cool program where he loans out whatever’s on the lot to a few moto guys when they come to town for A1. Yesterday Deegan stopped by and on a lot with Lamborghinis, Ferraris, rolls Royce’s, dangerboy chose up and got the TRWX.

I use to race trucks with his dad, and watched him grow up. I knew back than he was going to be the truth. He did things on a 65 most grown men wouldn’t do on a big bike. I remember telling big Deegan, if you don’t take that bike from him and get him into a truck he’s never gonna stop. (Motocross is the most dangerous sport in the world) by a huge margin.

There are a few things in life you can’t fake. You can tell the world who you are through a perfect lense, but your Character, morals, and values will eventually tell your story for you.

Of all the things I value, my reputation amongst my customers is near the top of the list. I don’t mean the people that watch from a far and make opinions I mean the people that help keep 7 families fed everyday.

I’ve always had a big voice and with that comes peoples opinions and judgments, but the record , the record reflects the truth. Every truck I’ve ever started, I finished.

You won’t find any “Robby woods stories” of people that pulled their truck mid build or didn’t get the parts they paid for. One thing remains true with everything we do and that’s, that people always get more than they paid for. Always

This isn’t easy, and it damn sure ain’t normal in our world but it’s standard ethics and practices here. The longer I do this the more I see how few people keep their word. Fuck most people don’t even come close to keeping their word.

Every truck I ever built for a race team made it to the track at the start of the season. Every suspension kit we we’ve boxed up and shipped , showed up perfect pre assembled with all the parts in it.

Legacy is not what the record books say, it’s not how many wins are listed next to your name, how many titles you have, or how many followers and sponsors you have.

Legacy is the way you lived your days when times were tough. Legacy is what went on behind closed doors, when the cameras weren’t on. The people that come to work everyday and wear your t shirts in public, the way they feel when they put on that shirt.

That’s legacy.

Our Co-Founder @bsrmotorsports has a long history in desert racing. Although the gold rush race didn’t go as any of us hoped one thing you can bet on is when the BSR truck goes by, it will be on the gas.

Alans love for desert racing is unmatched, and over the last 30 years he’s accumulated championships in every form of offroad that he’s raced. 3 wheelers, 4 wheelers, and trucks.

This year the team did a much needed complete overhaul on his current spec truck cutting the front off at the firewall and the rear off at the back of the cab. With all new suspension, engine and trans, cooling system, steering and everything else in between we were pleased with the truck performing flawlessly.

Alan and co driver Doug Poole started 6th and had a 20 second lead by mile 90. Unfortunately a flat tire would set them back and they collected a boulder while charging back through the dust ripping the left front an arm from the truck.

In typical farmer fashion, Alan and crew repaired the truck trackside and brought it in collecting the honor of finishing. Sometimes you win and sometimes the desert wins. The team looks for redemption at the next race in Pahrump Nevada in early December.

Front and Rear Bumpers are the single biggest visual change you can make to a truck. Get the wrong bumpers, your truck looks like something out of mad max.

Get the right bumpers and everyone will ask where you got them, how were they to install, and how do they fit up while assembling.

Every bumper we build is perfect. Tig welded, seamlessly blended, all American made DOM steel, and built by highly skilled craftsman… you won’t notice a difference in the bumpers on our trucks and the quality of our race trucks.
