sunsets + quality time have been essential this season ✨

work has been a little crazy this past month, but life outside of work has been sooooo sweet 🥹 lots of sunsets, dinners, time outside, and quality time with my favorite people.

moving back to birmingham has meant relearning what busy season looks like for me and reminding myself that I simply refuseeee to become a workaholic again lol.

so right now it looks like working as much as I can until I hit capacity, giving myself permission to stop, and choosing my people over my own made up sense of urgency.

the work will get done. the emails will get answered. the photos will get edited.

but I don’t want to be so “busy” building a life that I forget to actually live it.

Your photographer’s energy matters way more than you might think.

This is the person who is going to be with you for basically your entire wedding day. They’re there in the quiet moments while you’re getting ready, when the nerves start kicking in, when the timeline gets a little chaotic, when you need someone to tell you what to do with your hands, and when the dance floor finally gets wild.

So when you’re choosing your wedding photographer, don’t JUST ask yourself, “Do I love their photos?”

Ask yourself, “What kind of energy do I want around me on my wedding day?” “How long have they been in the industry, and what is their experience with anything that might be thrown their way?!

If you want someone who can read the room, knows when to step in and when to disappear into the background, can put you at ease when you’re stressed, hype you up when you need it, wrangle your family with a smile, and then drop it low with you on the dance floor…

Turns out one of my favorite parts of being an adult is realizing I can just… get in a van and go. 😂

Van tripping has genuinely become one of my favorite ways to experience Colorado. Waking up somewhere completely new, making coffee with a mountain view, pulling over whenever something looks beautiful, and getting to see places I probably never would have found otherwise.

There’s something about having everything you need with you and nowhere you HAVE to be that makes you slow down and actually experience a place instead of just traveling through it.

Already plotting the next trip because I can life has permanently ruined normal road trips for me.

@STORYTELLEROVERLAND is the dreamiest home on wheels and allowed me to experience Colorado in my absolute favorite way. 🤍
