The wrestling community is bigger than borders. 🇨🇦🤝🇺🇸 I had the opportunity to speak with the coaches @palani57_ @ryan.hicks17 from @takedown_academy coming from Canada during the @iridiumsportsagency Wrestling Camp @buchananboyswrestling @buchanan_girls_wrestling. What started with a single connection between @palani57_ and @israel_silva turned into an opportunity to travel across countries, build relationships, and give back to the next generation. That’s the power of networking and investing in people. I asked them what stood out about the wrestlers here in California’s Central Valley. Their answer was simple: the toughness and grit. They were impressed by the work ethic and determination they saw on the mat. Their message to every young wrestler was just as powerful: Have fun. Try your best. Make wrestling a game. Buy into the process, and enjoy the journey. Success comes when you love what you’re doing and commit to getting a little better every day. They also shared how surreal this experience has been. Just three months ago, they were watching many of these athletes compete at a national tournament. Today, they’re standing alongside them as clinicians, teaching at one of the premier camps in the country. It’s a reminder that wrestling creates lifelong relationships and opportunities you never know are coming. Dream big. Stay humble. Keep working. You never know where this sport will take you. #podcast #wrestling #canada🇨🇦 #camp #relationships taken in Buchanan High School by @ryan.hicks17

Grateful to end my SFU athletics career with people that I consider to be family. My teammates and coaches have helped push me through such dark and difficult times that I cannot express how grateful I am to have been apart of this team for the past 5 years. Forever grateful for wrestling and what it has done for my life. Onto the next chapter by @ryan.hicks17
