As a coach, I believe it is our responsibility to keep learning about areas of your game that you're not super educated on, Working through these spots often sucks and feels mundane and boring because when you're not good at something, it's not as fun. But if you can convince yourself to have fun with the grind of learning new things and working through them, you can reshape how you think about this. My weaker area that I have fallen in love with is Wrestling and I want to thank the people who have really helped me with this! Under the guidance of these coaches my game will improve but also my knowledge so I can be a better coach!

Do you work on your weak areas? I believe we should spend time really focusing on our weaker areas and not worry about losing in the training room. Here in this video you can see me as the nail a lot and coach Chey running me into the ground. What an opportunity for me to grow True skills in wrestling over a month of time being at @bangtaomuaythaimma

True growth in the training room can be found in a deep focus on skill acquisition over winning. Almost every training room will have someone with an aspect of their game that is better than yours. If you can kill your ego enough to improve, you will be blessed to train with that person. Or you can avoid them and remain the same.

Be curious, not judgmental

A good reminder for all of us, myself included. It's easy to judge someone's actions, decisions, or behaviour when we don't understand their story. It's harder to slow down, ask questions, listen, and genuinely try to understand where they're coming from. We all have different experiences, struggles, perspectives, and lessons that have shaped who we are. Curiosity creates understanding. Judgment creates distance. You don't have to agree with everyone to respect them. And you don't have to understand someone's choices to treat them with kindness. The next time we're quick to judge, maybe we should be quicker to ask a question.

I moved away from Ontario to live in a small town in Alberta last year not knowing I’d meet so many people I’d consider family.

Although my stay wasn’t long, I’m blessed to have met everyone in my short stay here.

Thank you for making me feel welcome and treating me like family from day one.

I’m grateful for the impact you’ve made in my life and helping a kid chase the dream. Thank you for accepting me into your team, I’m blessed to know I’ll always have a family out west @mvmacademy @ryan_sandbergbjj
