Exactly 10 years ago today marked my very “1st Day” of school with my bro at AMS in Manhattan Beach. It’s hard to believe that today begins an entirely new and exciting journey at Princeton— my home for the next four years.

So excited about this upcoming chapter ahead as a Princeton Tiger! As always, I’m grateful for my incredible family as well as all of the great teachers, mentors and friends that helped get me here!

Someone wise once said “If you want to go fast - go alone. If you want to go far - go as a team”

Looking back on my Chaparral orchestra and baseball endeavors, I’ve been so blessed to have my Nana and Papa in the audience & stands for almost every note played & pitch thrown over the past four years... Their support (combined with my dad & mom of course) have meant the world to me and will continue to be a huge foundation for all my success. Nana and papa, I’m so grateful for all your love and support! Love you always ❤️ by @ryanjpenney

Sadly, last week’s game was my last toeing the rubber on my beloved home field. Solid outing (5 IP / 0 ER) and an even better huge team win, but unfortunately our season came to a close this past Saturday..... So many great memories and moments with a Chaparral family that I’ll cherish for a lifetime!

Turning the page, I’m super excited and proud to be a Princeton Tiger starting in the fall. 🐅

Put a ribbon on my fantastic and memorable four year run with Chaparral’s Symphonic Orchestra last week with our last performance of the year.

I’m proud of my ~7 year journey— from just learning to play the cello starting in 6th grade at Cocopah to emerging as Chap’s first chair cellist for my senior year.

A special thanks to an outstanding group of fellow musicians and to the one and only Mrs. Shanna Roberts, who has led and inspired me and all since the beginning. I’m forever grateful for the whole experience and I’ll go forward with a tremendous love and appreciation for music. taken in Chaparral High School (Arizona) by @ryanjpenney

Had a unique opportunity to bring out the holiday spirit last week, as my fellow symphonic orchestra member, Audrey Bauschka, and I performed a mini-concert for my Papa and his friends at the Dementia & Education Center of the Valley. We performed four holiday classics (We Wish You A Merry Christmas, Deck The Halls, Silent Night and Carol Of The Bells), which brought smiles, toe tapping and holiday cheer to a special group of fun-loving seniors.

This special outing was a vivid reminder of the healing and connectivity powers of music. I’m not only super proud and grateful to help bring some joy into their lives, but want to look for more opportunities to play for other senior centers in the coming year. taken in Phoenix, Arizona by @ryanjpenney

What a true pleasure and honor to play with the Chaparral Symphonic Orchestra at the 2024 Fall Festival at Mountain View High School. Even better is receiving the “Superior with Distinction” award, which hasn’t been achieved by a Chaparral orchestra for over 15 years!

This isn’t possible without the dedicated and inspirational leadership of Mrs. Shana Roberts, who I’ve been fortunate to have as my teacher/conductor going back to 6th grade at Cocopah Middle School. On this Thanksgiving, I’m truly thankful for all you’ve done in helping me fully love and appreciate music! taken in Mountain View High School (Mesa, Arizona) by @ryanjpenney

Saying that my club baseball journey coming to an end is heartbreaking is an understatement. Finishing this remarkable 9+ year club baseball chapter off in Georgia was both memorable and fitting.

A heartfelt “THANK YOU” to the FS21 coaching staff - Michael Yanke, Scott Hairston, and Kevin Sweeney. Your support, along with that of many other coaches, means the world to me!
