You will be guided through the map of Ryan’s vocabulary, interests and artistic drives. The intention is for the body to feel both physical exhilaration and cerebral sentiments. Ryan wants to give space to be curious about the stories given to the body in tandem with what the body has to say.⁠

We are welcoming Ryan Munroe for Monday Night Improvisation in a couple of weeks' time! 🌀⁠
⁠
Ryan Munroe’s background comes from both dance and acting studies, which were undertaken separately and both experience live in his being as facilitator and performer. Facilitating before his studies at LCDS, then having many years of dance theatre experience Ryan now has deeper understanding, focus and compassion for the body that wants to explore a lived experience through dance. ⁠
⁠
Ryan believes the body has its own story, that is made of all the other stories in the world, which has led him to work cross generationally, with beings from many backgrounds, both within professional dance settings to community settings. Ryan continues to be open and explorative about where dance can exist and with whom dance lives through. ⁠

Meet Ryan Munroe @ryanmunroe_ 🧵🌾

Costume Designer for Tractor Time, helping shape the visual identity of the production through texture, storytelling, and movement.

In this introduction, Ryan shares insight into the ideas behind his costume designs — exploring the balance between intersectionality and functionality, and how clothing can both support movement and express identity.

Drawing from folk traditions and Slavic influences, the costumes blend practicality with symbolism, grounding the characters within the rural world of the piece while allowing each personality to shine through.
Through layered textures, workwear influences, and carefully considered details, Ryan’s designs become an essential part of the storytelling on stage.
