Hi to all of our new friends on here! We’re Ryan and Lena Luth, owners of @outlands.media 🎬 We wanted to introduce ourselves real quick so keep readin!😄 🙋‍♂️ @ryannluth Growing up in the jungles of Papua New Guinea, the
bush of Tanzania, California and the mountains of
British Columbia, you could say Ryan’s life has led himto the outdoors a lot... hence the inspiration behind founding Outlands with his wife, Lena. With over 8 years of experience in the film industry as a Director & Cinematographer he brings a wealth of experience from leading 50 person crews all the way down to one man band operations. 🙋‍♀️ @lena.ca__ Lena grew up in Germany and came to California in her early 20s and later married her husband Ryan. With a background in public speaking and learning english while living in Australia, she’s had some incredible life experiences that have shaped her to who she is today. She is also a model and content creator which makes her stay up to date with all the social media trends. Moving across the world and learning a new language was no small feat, and she takes the same determined approach to organic Instagram growth. She’s become quite the social media guru. The fact that it’s been 5 years since we had our little wedding in a backyard in 2020 is crazy… They say time flies when your having fun and that certainly has been the case over the past 5 years getting to do life with love of my life. Looking back at how much time has passed since we first said “I Do” it’s pretty cool to see how much we’ve grown, how Gods totally just taken care of us through every season, and how looking back it’s so incredibly clear God had a plan for us the whole time, and continues to for the future. You are the best gift from God and a blessing to me. The time has flown by but it’s also been so completely full of one adventure after the next, and there’s no one else I’d rather spend it with. To my best friend and love of my life 🥂 Happy 5 year anniversary ❤️ @lena.ca__ . . #5YearAnniversary #CouplePhotography #LoveStory by @ryannluth

Favorite clips from recent work for @newurtopia plus a quick journal entry: I’m genuinely curious if anyone else edits like this… So whenever we cut anything together for a commercial, brand doc, shorts, etc. unless it’s a narrative piece, I almost always lay down the song and the dialogue or voiceover first before any of the visuals. I’ve found it’s a workflow that seems to speed up the creative part of the process way quicker, because I always have this idea in my head of what it sounds and feels like, and to be honest I feel like capturing the story and progression of that is way easier through audio, and then the visuals get laid on afterward, like I’ve genuinely started editing the entire commercial audio first (minus any specific SFX and foley obvs) and laying all the footage out once I’ve finished the bulk of the music and voiceover structure. Anyone else do this? Genuinely curious 🧐 😅 PS: If you’re an 🚲ebike brand and want your marketing content to look like this… hit us up, we specialize in this kinda stuff 🤌🏼 📩Booking for projects 👉🏼outlandsmediagroup.com —link in bio! . . . . . . . . #filmmaking #film #filmmaker #cinematography #cinema #director #movies #movie #photography #filmmakers #behindthescenes #filmproduction #shortfilm #cinematographer #setlife #actor #indiefilm #films #ebike #videography #filmfestival #filmphotography #videoproduction #video #cinematic #hollywood #filming #directorofphotography #production #bts taken in Orange County, California by @ryannluth

Creativity isn’t unlimited. No matter how hard you push, eventually you hit a wall. I learned this the hard way, especially in the first three years of running my production company. I burned out every year, overworking myself, forcing creativity when there was nothing left to give. Now I protect my energy and make rest a priority, because if creativity is my currency, I need to keep it fresh. You’re a human being, not a human doing. . . . . . . #Filmmaking #Filmmaker #FilmLife #OnSet #BehindTheScenes #IndieFilm #ShortFilm #FilmCrew #Cinematography #FilmDirector #FilmCommunity #IndieFilmmaker #FilmProduction #VisualStorytelling #StoryThroughFilm #FilmAesthetic #Cinephile #MovieLovers #CinematicShots #FilmmakersWorld #Cinemagic #ContentCreator #CreatorsOfInstagram #InstaVideo #ReelMakers #CreateMore #IGFilmmakers #DirectorLife #MovieMagic #SetLife taken in Orange County, California by @ryannluth

In-camera effects just hit different. Instead of spending hours perfecting VFX in post, nailing the shot right on set is always rewarding. And you know we’re always up for that challenge. 🤙 Drop a comment with your favorite in-camera effects ✅ These shots are from our latest project for @aotos_global — check out the full video on our page! 📸BTS: @duncanthedirector . . . . . . . . . . #filmmaking #film #filmmaker #cinematography #cinema #director #movies #movie #photography #filmmakers #behindthescenes #filmproduction #shortfilm #cinematographer #setlife #actor #indiefilm #films #art #videography #filmfestival #filmphotography #videoproduction #video #cinematic #hollywood #filming #directorofphotography #bts #production taken in Los Angeles, California by @ryannluth

We recently shot a commercial that required scenes in both airplane and airport interiors, so here’s how we pulled it off 👆🏻 Were stoked to have wrapped up an awesome project for @aotos_global to promote the launch of their new ride on electric suitcases. Huge thanks to everyone involved, we’ll be releasing the full video and more fun BTS in a bit here so stay tuned! . . . . . . . . . #filmmaking #film #filmmaker #cinematography #cinema #director #movies #setlife #photography #filmmakers #behindthescenes #filmproduction #shortfilm #cinematographer #setlife #actor #indiefilm #films #art #videography #filmfestival #filmphotography #videoproduction #video #cinematic #hollywood #filming #directorofphotography #bts #production taken in Los Angeles, California by @ryannluth
