Marbled Obstruction is now on view at @fieldofplaygallery with @songwatkinspark until October 4th. This work started with a photograph of construction fencing splashed with dirt and water of a new development in Gowanus. I like to think the water was straight from the superfund canal itself with heavy metals. This image was used to create a faux marble effect on a corner fence that prevents the scaling of fences and entrance to private property. This faux marbling reflects the often shoddy construction methods used that aesthetically appeal while hiding another surface underneath like camouflage.
