Spolier alert! @benton.end is magnificent. I luckily made my trip to Essex work with being able to go to this garden with a long legacy of looking pretty and being a bit edgy. Things I strive for in life 😉 I'll post about plants too but what stands out in this latest iteration of the garden is the conscious design. The @gardenmuseum influence, an education from Great Dixter, a hint of @bethchattogardens nursery labels. What it shows is that when humans try, they can create space for beauty and it only grows, so long as the people stay & play the role of editor. taken in Benton End by @ryansb90

I love chocolate. And I'm growing into loving irises. They seem to be having a moment. But I've not paid attention for long enough, maybe they've been trendy for a while. But how many SMELL LIKE CHOCOLATE!!???

This amazing Iris Germanica Quechee smells sweet like chocolate. A garden client and ?supporter¿ gave me a division just over a year ago. And this is the first time flowering in my front garden.

Bred by Harold Knowlton of Massachusets, USA, 80 odd years ago. American Iris Society President 1953-55.

I'm looking forward to visiting @benton.end with my Mum in July. Also a famous Iris place.

And I unashamedly love The 1975 too. Whatchya gonna do!? by @ryansb90

A visit to @walworthgarden South of the river. Thames. Good signage and landscaping, great plant displays, and friendly expert plant knowledge.

Everything is about 3 weeks advanced compared to home. And the saltbush is impressively abundant & gnarly.

I now have more things on my wishlist for home and inspiration for clients' gardens. taken in Walworth Garden by @ryansb90

Before and after of 2 apple trees I pruned this afternoon at a school. The million trees project or whatever have planted 240+ UK native woodland trees with stakes and guards and committed to care for them ('maintain them') for 15 years. Which is cool, in principle. I don't like the grid layout or that the veteran orchard and these semi-dwarfing trees have been overlooked. But it's OK, I care. And I have secateurs and loppers. And have pruned hundreds of trees over the past errr 15¿ years. As you can see, they're a much better shape now. I'll be back next year. by @ryansb90

🖼What's this trend? 🎨
Of course I'm not that into AI. So, I commissioned my daughter to draw one... but @snapshotsbyjenny took charge and did it 😂 Just like AI, you don't always get what you expected. This caricature used some electricity because we had to have the big light on but next to no water cos Jenny is hardly ever adequately hydrated. by @ryansb90
