Did you Know February is National Snack Food Month? It’s a time to consider healthier snack options and how they can improve health, so let’s talk about what really makes a good snack for your adventure dog 🐕🍖

Most treats are just that—treats. 🍪 Low in nutrition, high in fillers, and designed for cost rather than 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲.

But for 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝗴𝘀, 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗴𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝘀, snacks need to do more. That’s why we created Ryōken Bars to be:
✅ 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 (~5000 𝗸𝗰𝗮𝗹/𝗸𝗴!)
✅ Fat and protein-forward 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 & 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆
✅ 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗹𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Inspired by 𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗴𝘀 and the 𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗸𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝘀, we modernized the multi-day working dog fuel for today’s everyday explorers 🏔

Your pup isn’t just any dog—so why settle for any snack? by @ryokeninstinct

𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹 🐕✨
Did you know 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 (𝗠𝗘) measures the energy your pup actually uses from food? Here’s how our bars stand out:

•~5000 𝗸𝗰𝗮𝗹/𝗸𝗴 𝗠𝗘 (vs. ~3000 kcal/kg in most treats)
•Packed with 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗳𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆—no fillers like chickpeas or soy or flour.
•Organs and fats provide 𝗺𝗮𝘅𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗺 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆.

For long hikes or big adventures, your dog needs nutrient-dense snacks that work hard. Every square of our bars powers your outdoor loving pups’ play, recovery, and exploration! by @ryokeninstinct

What’s a beach day without a little beach snack? 🌊

(Peep Kilo’s new tooth in the 2nd slide)
________________________

I’m heading on vacation in a few days and the dogs won’t be coming which makes me quite sad.
When your whole world revolves around your dogs it’s hard to be without them. Thankfully we have some wonderful folks looking after the dogs and our farm, so I know they’ll be in good hands 🫂

Do you ever plan vacations without your dogs?

We’re baaaaaack!! And we came to one of our favorite events to say it 🙂‍↕️ @superzooshow

We’re going to be live at SuperZoo TOMORROW and booth 3906 is where you’ll find us! We’ve missed the in-person stuff more than an IG caption can capture. Bring on aaaaall the human-and-pup interactions, the falling back into comfortable connections with old friends, the moment someone tries one of our bars and their dog goes absolutely feral for it.

Retailers, customers, curious humans, pls come say hi. We have LOTS of samples waiting for your pups and even more catching up to do 🥹

PS. Still setting up but i promise we’ll be ready for ya tomorrow~ taken in Mandalay Bay Convention Center by @ryokeninstinct

It was great to meet so many Beaucerons and fuel them last week in Cherry Valley, California at the Working Beauceron Association Journée Event!
Judges came all the way from France to evaluate over 60 Beaucerons over 2 very hot and sunny ☀️ days

What’s one thing that you bring everywhere with you for your dogs?

You can always find us with:
- a collar and leash
- a first aid kit (for the dogs and for me)
- a bit of an overload of treats
- a harness and a weather related jacket (these two get cold if the wind breezes lol)
- a @ryokeninstinct adventure ready bar (or two… or five)

I really like that these bars come in releasable packaging, are made with limited ingredients that are sustainably sourced, and that they’re pre scored so you can break little bits off to use as reward treats. They’re packed with protein and good fats that help to replenish dogs after a lot of activity, which can help with muscle recovery 🙌🏼

Happy Monday!
What’s your favorite treat? Like you and your dogs?
I think I my biggest weakness for pickles…but if I’m saying sweet treat it’s gotta be coffee😋
My dogs is @ryokeninstinct Adventure Ready Bars, they each have different fav proteins and I wish I could ask them what their favs are but I think I can tell based on how hard they take it from me and how big their eyes get😂
What’s your fav and what’s your dogs?

If you had to choose one protein for a @ryokeninstinct everyday mini, what would it be?

Hex and Kilo are the least helpful teat subjects. When it comes to Ryōken Instinct bars, they love absolutely everything that Martha makes! But I think their favourite mini bars so far have been the goat or the quail (who remembers the 24 protein advent calendar?!).

Everyday Minis are so versatile and we use them for just about everything, which is why I always keep a stock of them! From training treats, food puzzles and enrichment, meal toppers… the list goes on!

Ryōken Instinct also makes Adventure Ready Bars; these have been a staple in our life for over 3 years now. They’re what I grab for longer days, hikes, sports training and more demanding training sessions… anything where the dogs are working extra hard and need more fuel.

Ps. The Venison Adventure Ready+ Bar is back for a limited time AND are on sale!

You can use code 🍫 KILOHEXINSTINCT 🍫 to save on your order 🤗
