Saad Munawar has summited the North Face of Mt. Everest. Alhamdulilah!

Earlier today, at 8:50 AM (NPT) Saad raised the green flag at the summit of highest peak in the world. This is the first time that a Pakistani has summited Mt. Everest from the North side (Tibet).

Saad has safely descended back to Camp 3 for the night. Requesting prayers for safe descent back to the base camp during the next days.

Greetings from the summit of Mt. Everest!

An absolute honour to raise the green flag and give Azan at the highest point in the world. Alhamdulilah!

Grateful to ALLAH pak for blessing me with the opportunity to climb the mountain from the north face and add Pakistan to the list of summits from this route. Some great Pakistani mountaineers have attempted this route and I share my summit with them.

I would like to dedicate this summit to my wife. If I had an Everest in front of me, I also had an Everest standing right behind me, always having my back. There were so many setbacks, so many failures, so many disappointments - I might have given up if it wasn't for her. So, this summit is more hers than mine. ❤️

I would also like to give credit to my eight parents: 2 parents, 3 siblings, and their 3 spouses. All eight of them have raised me and taught me every good thing that I know and I'll always remain indebted to them.

Big thanks to my friends and mountain teachers: Sirbaz Khan, Abdul Joshi, Shaheen Baig, Qudrat Ali, Muhammad Bari, Hassan Jan, Madad Ali, Majeed Karim, Bakhti Baig, Haider Rakaposhi, Ashiq Hussain, and many other guides, and chefs, and porters, with whom I have walked many miles and who have taught me so much. I share my humble success with all of them

Greetings from Everest Base Camp (5364m)

Alhamdulilah, today at 1.30pm (local time), our whole team achieved their goal of reaching the base camp of the highest peak in the world.

Big congratulations to: Esha Rehman, Maira Jabbar, Rasha Iqbal Farooqui, and Tania Nadeem. Well done MashaALLAH! 💪❤️

Gratitude to Mr. Kumar Magar, our Nepalese guide, and other 3 members of our team: Mr. Nir Kumar, Mr. Ravind, and Mr. Sushil. You guys did a great job. 🙏❤️

This was my 4th time coming to Everest Base Camp. Always a pleasure 🙏

Sometimes it’s difficult to find suitable words to express our feelings. On such occasions, we find out that some great people, who lived long before us, have already written words that can quite amazingly express exactly how we feel.

This time I found refuge in Ghalib’s words:

بیدادِ عشق سے نہیں ڈرتا مگر اسدؔ
جس دل پہ ناز تھا مجھے وہ دل نہیں رہا

Hopefully, all bad news from this year is behind us.
Hopefully, it’s only light that awaits us 🙏❤️

Today in Kathmandu with Everest Base Camp & Island Peak Expedition members. Shopping done. Gears checked. Now it's time to go. Looking forward to the upcoming trek and climb in the Khumbu region!

For the 11th time in 11 years, I'll be returning to the valleys of Nagar, Hunza, and Gojal for Autumn Colours tour. This time leading the tour for @mountainsandbeyond.pk

Autumn is my favourite season and I try to enjoy its beauty every year at the time when the colours are at their best.

This is the only "road tour" + beginner level trek (Rakaposhi Base Camp) that I lead every year. It is a perfect first trip/trek to prepare yourself for bigger goals in 2027.

In October 2026, I am leading two expeditions in Nepal:

1. Everest Base Camp Trek
2. Everest Base Camp Trek + Island peak.

For EBC, you should have some beginner/Intermediate level trekking experience beforehand.

For Island peak, you must have done strenuous treks/climbs and have some prior technical experience of using crampons, jumaring, abseiling, etc.

Greetings and a belated happy independence day from the summit of Khosar Gang (6042m - as per my garmin).

Super proud of my wife who made this summit just three months after giving birth to our beautiful Meherbano.

Congratulations to all the team members who showed great spirit and character in these last two weeks.

I would like to dedicate this summit to my brothers who chose Broadpeak as their last mountain. I haven't been able to process what has happened and mostly I have been living in denial. Being in the mountains and away from connectivity helped. It'll still take me some time to come around this. It's a huge incomprehensible loss. Four of these ten, I knew personally. What incredible people. Some of the best in the world really. My thoughts and prayers remain with their families. My respect and admiration for all the climbers, base camp staff, heli pilots, all the government organisations, embassies, and the volunteers, who worked in coordination during these difficult times.

Grateful to the Nepalese Embassy for honouring me and all the Pakistani Everest summiteers on the 73rd International Sagarmatha (Everest) Day - 29th May 2026.

Pakistan and Nepal have the tallest and the most beautiful mountains in the world. Also the biggest population of mountain communities that face many challenges. Through mutual cooperation and constructive efforts, tourism can play a huge part in not only showcasing the beautiful landscape but also to bring prosperity and safety to these mountain communities.
