Given Sabot Foundation’s work with Dr. Lipov, Stella Mental Health, and DSR-SGB treatment for veterans and law enforcement, this book is particularly relevant to our mission. In addition, Dr Shauna Springer PhD assists as psychological advisor with respect to veterans and LEO’s we assist.

She is an award-winning Military Times podcast host, and one of the world’s leading experts on psychological trauma, suicide prevention, and close relationships. A Harvard graduate who has become a trusted advisor to the nation’s military warfighters and first responders, she is the author of three best-selling books.

For Sabot Foundation, the book’s central premise connects directly with three components of its mission:
Intervention: Addressing the physiological symptoms of trauma through treatments such as Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) and Dual Sympathetic Reset (DSR).
Integration: Helping individuals translate symptom relief into sustained improvements in their daily lives.
Suicide prevention: Reducing the burden of trauma-related symptoms while maintaining ongoing mental health support and connection.

We are beyond excited to welcome the South West Pistol League as a partner for the Sabot Foundation Veterans Day Charity Match!

Formed in 1963, SWPL has a long and rich history providing support to the shooting sports here in SoCal. Each of us at RW has been competing at SWPL for years, treating it as our home club. Aaron Lepley, SWPL Match Director, is a dear friend who has supported us and our classes for some time. Every month, SWPL puts on the best USPSA match in SoCal in our opinion. When we decided to turn this year’s event into a match, we had no other choice in our minds.

A powerful experience can open the door to healing. Integration helps veterans and LEO’s carry that progress into their relationships, routines, and sense of purpose through peer connection, reflection, healthy habits, and continued professional care when needed.

It also creates space to process difficult emotions, recognize setbacks, and ask for support. Healing takes time, and everyone deserves connection beyond a single appointment or retreat.

In March 2012, U.S. Army Combat Veteran José Martinez was on an operation in Afghanistan when he stepped on a 60 pound improvised explosive device while assisting a wounded fellow team member . He lost both legs and his right arm. As he awaited a CASVAC, a passing Special Forces team picked him up. His heart stopped twice aboard the helo , but he survived.

Recovery brought surgeries, rehabilitation, and a struggle to imagine what life could become. With the support of his wife, Liseth, José learned to walk with prosthetics and found freedom through adaptive surfing, eventually becoming a championship adaptive surfer. Surfing all over the world

His advocacy has been featured by The New York Times and on podcasts, while fellow veterans have shared his story on shows including those hosted by Shawn Ryan and Joe Rogan. José is the very definition of resilience: a veteran who survived the unimaginable and chose to help others find their way forward.

Today, José continues to serve through Four Season Fighters, the nonprofit he founded to bring veterans, first responders, and others together through outdoor activities, mentorship, and community. He shares both the physical and emotional parts of his journey to remind others facing dark moments that they do not have to face them alone.

In December 2024, JP Peña, a United States Marine Corps combat veteran, joined the first eight veterans participating in Sabot Foundation’s stem cell therapy initiative. The program is now past 30 treated utilizing mesenchymal stem cells, MUSE Cells Wharton’s Jelly products, and exosomes for conditions such as traumatic brain injury, PTS, and chronic pain.

At the time, JP struggled with significant knee problems that severely limited his mobility. Running was nearly impossible, and even walking was compromised. He endured repeated visits to the VA to have fluid drained from his knee.
Through the program, JP received stem cell-based injections and exosomes as part of his treatment including his back.
What followed was an extraordinary return to endurance athletics.
Since undergoing treatment, JP has gone on to complete a 200-mile gravel race, Ironman competitions, and other demanding endurance events—physical achievements that stand in remarkable contrast to the mobility limitations he experienced before treatment.

Today at LAPD for The Heart of Walk, bringing awareness, connection, and much-needed resources to those in need.

Today, we were proud to gift $77,000 worth of red-light therapy devices, in conjunction with @realitycenter @empowrwellness @weareintuneofficial @cquebe_foundation with the support of the National Foundation for Integrative Medicine helping bring innovative wellness resources to the people who need them most.

A special thank you to @hyevon_gigi @torqmd @_dustinj from @mergingvetsandplayers , and @michaeleaparicio for coming out, showing their support, and bringing much-needed resources.

We first began providing stem cell therapy to veterans in December 2024. Since then, we have been able to provide treatment to more than 30 veterans, nearly all of whom have been deployed to combat theaters overseas. These veterans are dealing with a wide range of conditions and ailments associated with military service and deployments.

All of these veterans had already gone through multiple conventional treatments and therapies.

Our partnerships with the Perinatal Stem Cell Society a 501c3, Ashara Health, and the supportive corporations and organizations that have helped make these treatments available at no cost to veterans have been absolutely pivotal. Without these partnerships, providing this type of care would be extremely difficult.

For us, this is what partnership is about: bringing together organizations, medical professionals, corporations, and donors who are willing to work together to give veterans access to treatment options they might otherwise never have the opportunity to receive.

Our goal is simple—put the resources where they matter most.
