“Roxanna Reese” - famous actor/comedian who played the hilarious role of the drunk woman on “Martin” pictured with “Kenneth L. Roberson,” an American Choreographer and dancer best known for work on Avenue. I’ve known Roxanna for a little over (2) years and she never revealed to me her celebrity status. She booked coming to Sabreee’s Gullah that she would be bringing 40-50 friends (unbeknownst all were celebrities) like - “Clare’ Bathe’ -dance captain and vocal captain in Lena Horne: “The Lady & Her Music.” Her daughter - “Michelle Bathe’ -actress/French singer and Michelle’s husband - “Sterling K. Brown “- Emmy and Golden Globe Winning actor, producer and podcast host were some of the celebrities who visited Sabreee’s Gullah on July 4th weekend. Thank all of you for your Support and Love! If you haven’t been to Daufuskie Island, man are you missing out on Culture and Beauty! During the Gullah Festival, my daughter is weaving a “Traditional Gullah Quilt.” In this process, colorful scrap pieces of fabrics are interwoven into burlap with a nail. This is a very tedious, but rewarding Gullah art form. Book your next vacation spot to Daufuskie Island - a Gullah Territory! 🌴💦 www.sabreesgallery.com #gullah #geechee #ancestory #gullah quilting #traditional Gullah style quilts #orishas #west Africa #media blog #gullah traditions #sallie Ann Robinson #daufuskie island #fabrics by @sabreeegullah

Do any of you know what it means when you’re sagging and lightning strikes the sage breaking it into pieces? Well, that’s exactly what happened to me during the day of a dark thunderstorm… Artwork: “Protect Us” www.sabreesgallery.com #gullah #geechee #ancestors #orishas #storm #sage #black history #juneteenth2025❤️💚🖤✊🏾 #media blog #fire #smoke #protect taken in Sabreee's Gullah Art Gallery by @sabreeegullah

I’m ready for this! Nothing takes the heat off of summer like some juicy, cool watermelon. In the Gullah Culture, this is watermelon season and my family planted hundreds of acres of it every year. Watermelon is loaded with tons of medicinal properties - antioxidant, contains vitamin c, wards off diseases, reduces inflammation, keeps you hydrated, great for your digestive track, good for your skin, pumps up your muscles, reduces weight, improves your vision, and much more… You better grab one or two, but make sure it’s from a farmer’s market… so much fresher! 🍉 www.sabreesgallery.com #gullah #geechee #orishas #watermen #water #ancestors #black history #media blog #viral arts taken in Sabreee's Gullah Art Gallery by @sabreeegullah

It’s always exciting meeting new people from all walks of life. This is Catherine from Boston, but resides in NY. She offered to help me clean cotton and says the process is very relaxing. Later, I’ll make Cotton Ornaments and Bag Cotton, which we sell all year round. Thanks Catherine for the wonderful conversation and helping out! www.sabreesgallery.com #gullah #geechee #orishas #ancestors #black history #cotton #media blog #viral arts taken in Sabreee's Gullah Art Gallery by @sabreeegullah

Children are so spiritually-connected and pure. Their innocence welcomes each day. This is an embellished canvas giclee - a high quality reproduction and/or print of one of my artworks. Here, we have a little girl walking towards the waters with white flowers to honor her Ancestors. On both sides of her is the Sweetgrass and when in full bloom, they turn into purple flowers. Going fishing everyday with our father was one of my most favorite pastimes; even the dog enjoyed the possibility of a good meal. Looking back, it was the bonding of family that gave us our truest treasures.
