YOGA FOR RUNNERS with JJ Studio 🍂🍁

Join Safe Space WRC in establishing a solid foundation for our fall wellness habits & setting our bodies up for success in all of the seasons to come!

This Sunday October 4th, with the help of JJ STUDIO, we are prepping our bodies for a season of recovery and restoration with gentle movement tailored for women at every level.

BYOM (bring your own mat) encouraged 😋

As our outdoor season approaches its soft closure at the end of October, we are so excited and grateful to highlight wellness spaces that we love, in and around our city.

Offering opportunities for women from all-levels to come together with like-minded beginners, who love (or are learning to love) running, wellness, and girl-time in a judgement free & easy-going environment has always been a key driver for Safe Space.

a little yoga in the park dump 🥹🌿

still feeling so grateful that this little idea actually happened. what started as “maybe i should host a yoga class in the park” turned into this really beautiful morning of movement, matcha, sunshine & community.

thank you to everyone who came out, rolled out a mat, did some yoga with me, drank matcha & made this day so special 🤍

& a big thank you to @safespace.rc for collaborating with me & making this idea come to life & for the gorgeous @lululemon set✨🧘🏽‍♀️🌸

i’m still processing the fact that i actually got to stand in a park and teach yoga to a group of people. 🥹

feeling very grateful for this little dream of mine & so excited for what’s next.

Safe Space is Embracing Autumn with Emherging Yoga!!

Join Safe Space X Emherging Yoga on Saturday September 19th @ 10:00am in Forest Heights Park to soak up the end of summer & welcome in the fall, together!

This session is 60 Minutes of Gentle Outdoor Yoga Flow for ALL-LEVELS that can be modified to suit every body best in an all-women group setting.

Hosted by Safe Space and led by certified instructor, and wonder-mom, Emma Herging.

- 10:30 - 11:30 am: Gentle Outdoor Yoga Flow
- 11:30 am: Post-yoga Matcha Hangout

Get in girls, we’re going hobby-maxxing 🚙🚙!!

Safe Space WRC is launching our book club branch, Forward Bound, & who better to kick it off with then our pals nearest to our home turf, @paperbirchbooks !!

The whole idea is that we wanna get together more often, with the accountability to do the things we want to do more of, better!! We wanna read more and we wanna run more and we wanna get together more 📚❤️‍🔥🫂

Forward Bound will be meeting at local independent bookstores, gathering, running our signature 3km distance (+break at halfway) in the host shop’s neighborhood, collecting our copy of the feature read from the shop, hangin’ & bringing our new books home to READ!!

We will be getting together midway through the book at local cafes to have treats, make crafts, and tap-in about what we’ve read!

Your mom’s favourite running collective is expanding our universe to include The Wonderful World of Reading 💭🧐💐

Join Safe Space WRC in combating the literacy crisis with the help of some of Edmonton’s finest independent bookstores.

❤️‍🔥📚🤓

This fall, we’ll be taking our Safe Space signature 3km distance (with a 1.5km checkpoint rest) on tour to highlight the neighbourhoods that play host to our favourite featured shops).

Kick off the @edmontonmarathon weekend alongside Safe Space WRC + Wild Rose Runners at ACE Garneau on FRIDAY AUGUST 14th!

This 4.2km carb-loaded community shakeout is suited for Edmonton runners of all-levels to ease into this city’s best weekend in running.

Our flat, breezy route travels through the Garneau neighbourhood & university grounds before wrapping up at ACE Coffee Roasters to sip, socialize, and carb-load with classic Sepp’s slices.
