✨ HELLO & WELCOME ✨

I’ve shared all things food for a while now, but it feels right to share the person behind it.

This chutney started exactly where most good food does: in my family kitchen. Growing up in a Mauritian household, coriander chutney was always on the table. Fresh, herby, citrusy, with just enough fire to bring everything to life. It’s a flavour I’ve cooked with, eaten, and loved for as long as I can remember.

I first made it for the @mercatometropolitano food competition, without any bigger plan and then something unexpected happened. People kept asking about it. Asking for more. Telling me they couldn’t stop eating it. That’s when it clicked that this wasn’t just a family favourite anymore.

So I’m excited to be sharing my family-made coriander chutney, rooted in culture, shaped by the food I grew up with, and made to work on just about anything ✨

I’m so grateful to my friends and family who tasted, tested, encouraged and backed this from the very beginning. Thank you for being part of the journey ❤️

Hi, I’m Yohannah, founder of Safran Vert 👋🏽

Growing up in a British-Mauritian household, coriander chutney was always on the table. Sandwiches, BBQs, rice, snacks… honestly, we put it on everything. Normal behaviour in our house 😅

A few years ago, I served our homemade chutney at a cooking competition and people kept asking:
“Where can I buy this?”

Turns out… nowhere.

You could find pesto, hummus, chilli oil - but no fresh Mauritian-style coriander condiment in delis or supermarkets. So we decided to change that.

Safran Vert was born from family recipes, fresh ingredients, and the belief that good food should bring people together.

Bold, herby, zesty, ridiculously versatile and made to live in your fridge door permanently 🌿
