POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

August is a very special month for Mercato Metropolitano. Since 2018, we’ve joined up with @southwarkcouncil and our amazing community partners to run free Summer Camps for the young people of Southwark 🌻🌞🎨

From moving and grooving with @danceworkslondon, to fixing old bikes with @communitycycleworks and planting baby greens with @greens_made_easy, it’s been a summer of unlocking new skills and having lots of fun along the way!

A special thank you to the amazing people who made it happen, including our wonderful trading partners who shared the joys of cooking from scratch and prepared delicious meals for everyone to enjoy.

It was a great experience to compete in the "Food waste to Food Feast" organised by @mercatometropolitano and @thefelixproject
Although I didn't win, I got the chance to meet incredible chefs and hear their stories and also to meet great judges.
In addition, my recipe and the rest of the chefs will be published in the Felix project cook book, so stay tuned!

Being aware about food waste is something embedded in me since I was a kid by watching my mom being so careful and trying to use all parts of a plant or animal to make delicious meals.
I used her Ejji recipe and that made me feel her there with me.
