Had some nice chats at Woodworking In America. Picked up a few goodies too. Looking forward to taking a swing at marquetry and chair making.. After building my son's crib of course. I've got a new YouTube video on the crib coming out shortly. #woodworking #america by @sage.eckman

The 1/8" chisel I ordered at @handworksevent arrived so I immediately cut tiny dovetails. Maybe I could turn the little guy into a dovetail marking tool or something. Anyone have any better ideas? #lienielsentoolworks by @sage.eckman

Tonight I picked up a scrap and worked without any purpose or end result in mind—unnatural behavior for me. I let things get chaotic on the bench. When my dovetails were completed I took a beat to appreciate the beauty of the moment before breaking the joint apart and sending the wood back from whence it came. I wiped down and oiled each tool, and put everything back in its place. Order restored.

P.S. I used an em dash, not AI. taken in Iowa by @sage.eckman

I had the privilege of meeting the big dawg himself. So cool to show my tool chest and bench to the man who literally wrote the book on them. What a way to close out this chapter of my woodworking journey. #handworks #anarchiststoolchest taken in Amana Festhalle Barn by @sage.eckman

Come use my bench! It is available to demo some amazing handplanes at the @sauer_and_steiner booth, and my anarchists tool chest will be on display there as well next to the @lostartpress booth. #handworks #anarchiststoolchest #anarchistsworkbench by @sage.eckman

First purchase from @redrosereproductions and I’m impressed. Beautiful winding sticks, every bit as good as what I could make myself, and well worth it to keep the builds moving. #handtoolwoodworking by @sage.eckman

I finished rebuilding my fathers old bench into a solid top Roubo.

The details:
I glued up a new 5 1/2" solid douglas fir top, with a crucible planing stop and bored holdfast holes. I disassembled the base and rebuilt the bench with drawbored mortise and tennon joinery. I painted and oiled the base and built a maple and walnut tool rack on the back of the bench. I then built a 24" moxon vise in walnut, and finally a leg vise in hard maple using benchcrafted hardware. I lined the vise jaws with suede, and now my bench is complete. #worldtreedesign #handtoolwoodworking #anarchistsworkbench by @sage.eckman
