Hanging out with a cute doggo while being bombasted with ads aimed at people with EDS and other connective tissue disorders … promoting paid masterclasses and diet plans based in “alternative” medicine without any research backing their claims… while the page that made the ad is publicly promoting practices that are harmful to bodies with connective tissue disorders.

It is actively dangerous for us to engage in stretching exercises. It is actively dangerous for us to do yoga. It is actively dangerous for us to engage in exercises that involve high levels of impact on our joints. Meanwhile, those of us with physical disabilities are systematically barred from entering the workforce, meaning that in this capitalist hellscape we are kept in poverty.

And here come these pages, actively promoting unsafe practices and promising that they can cure us if we just fork over the little money that we may have. And here comes Meta, targeting these ads at chronically ill people desperate for relief from their symptoms. These ads always become more prevalent while I am experiencing a flare up of my symptoms.

It’s predatory as fuck. by @sailor_spaghetti

I intend to get some better pictures to post to my art account, but this is by far the coolest thing I've ever made. Pattern by @craftyintentions taken in Northampton, Massachusetts by @sailor_spaghetti

Because I am once again procrastinating (don't worry, I will be finishing my last final tonight), enjoy this picture of me and my friend being "defiant" at STPEC Red Star, the end-of-the-semester gathering where we celebrate graduating seniors. taken in UMass Amherst by @sailor_spaghetti
