🌾❤️ One Ton of Rice, Thousands of Meals, and a Whole Lot of Hope
Today, I had the privilege of volunteering alongside an incredible team from the USA, Feed My Starving Children, and Feed the Hungry in Uganda.
We are especially grateful to Ivan, our Country Manager, for inviting Saint Ann Foundation to be a beneficiary and giving us the opportunity to be part of this meaningful initiative.
As part of the 3D Program, we are truly grateful to contribute to a mission that helps feed vulnerable children and families. Today, we rolled up our sleeves and worked together to pack an incredible 1 TON of nutritious rice meals, which will be distributed to vulnerable families and communities in Uganda and beyond. 🌍❤️
For Saint Ann Foundation, this is more than food. It is hope, dignity, compassion, and a reminder that no child or family should have to face hunger alone.
🙏 Thank you, Ivan, and the entire team for opening this opportunity to us and for your commitment to fighting hunger.

What an incredible journey it has been hosting Cara David (Maama) and her son Toby in Uganda with the Saint Ann Foundation! 🇺🇬❤️

Their visit was about so much more than volunteering. It was about connection, love, giving, culture, friendship, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. 🌍✨

Cara and Toby generously contributed to and helped make a soccer tournament possible for the children of Buyiga Island. The smiles, excitement, teamwork, and laughter made the day unforgettable! ❤️⚽

Local Councils (LCs) are the foundation of Uganda's local governance system. They play a vital role in representing communities, promoting peace and security, resolving local disputes, mobilizing community development, and ensuring that citizens' voices are heard in decision-making. Strong local leadership is essential for building accountable, inclusive, and prosperous communities.
As Ugandans head to the polls to elect their Local Council leaders, Saint Ann Foundation encourages everyone to participate peacefully, responsibly, and respectfully. Every vote is an opportunity to strengthen democracy and shape the future of our communities.

✨ From darkness to opportunity. ✨
For the first time in the history of Buyiga Island, children can access digital learning powered by clean, renewable energy.
Through our Solar Project, Buyiga Seed School has become the first school on the entire island to have off-grid electricity, transforming education for hundreds of girls and boys. What was once impossible is now a reality—children are learning ICT skills, accessing digital resources, studying after dark, and preparing for a future filled with opportunities.
For many children, this is their first experience using a computer. For many girls, it is the beginning of a journey toward digital inclusion, leadership, and economic empowerment.
This project is doing more than providing electricity—it is lighting classrooms, expanding opportunities, bridging the digital divide, and helping children build the skills they need to thrive in the 21st century.

A heartfelt thank you to MIVA and Katalemwa Cheshire Home for making this transformation possible. Together, we are proving that no child should be left behind simply because of where they are born.

✨ From Darkness to Light: A Story of Transformation in Buyiga
Not long ago, when the sun set on Buyiga Island, learning stopped.
Classrooms fell into darkness.
Dreams had to wait for daylight.
At Buyiga Seed Secondary School, students struggled to study, teachers worked under limitations, and opportunities felt just out of reach.
But then… something changed.

☀️ Solar power arrived.

And with it, a new beginning.
Today, as the sun goes down, the school stays alive.
Lights shine through classrooms.
Students gather for evening studies.
Teachers prepare lessons with renewed energy.

📚 Hope is no longer limited by daylight.
Enrollment is rising.
Performance is improving.
Confidence is growing.
The school has become more than just a place of learning—it is now a beacon of hope for the entire island.
But perhaps the most powerful moment came just days ago…
📞 A call from the headteacher of St. Martin Primary School Buyiga
They have seen the transformation.
They have seen the light.
And they asked:
“When will our children also get this opportunity?”

💔 That question carries both hope and urgency.
We told them to stay hopeful.
To believe.
To keep praying as we continue searching for support.
Because this is more than electricity.
This is about equal opportunity, dignity, and a future every child deserves.
