This was certainly a day out with a difference!

A couple of weeks ago, I joined my lovely friend Nina, founder of breast cancer charity Walk the Walk and a group of friends for an unforgettable day in London.

As a newly appointed Freeman of the City of London, Nina had the historic right to drive sheep across Southwark bridge—and she did exactly that! We joined in, proudly wearing our iconic MoonWalk bra T-shirts to support Nina and raise awareness of breast cancer.💗

A positive to the Golf being in for repair 👏 Betty Beetle stopped being my fair-weather car and became my everyday runaround.

Shopping, filling up with petrol, trips out — much more fun! I have really enjoyed having to drive her every day.😍 by @sallyorrx

Birthdays seem more significant now, as I guess each one is a blessing!

71 was an amazing year with wonderful memories — spending time with family and friends, travelling and the occasional espresso martini 🍸

And there were a few firsts too — my first tattoo, first safari, first balloon ride, first festival — and even a cataract operation! 😂

Very excited to see what 72 brings! 👏🥂

Oh, and for those who know me — it’s 8.30am 👏 and I’m already working my way through two of my birthday presents — Rose and Violet Creams and a fabulous selection of mini cakes from The Little Cake Co. 😳😋 by @sallyorrx

About a month ago, somebody hit my car. Not a huge drama at the time — just a lack of judgement on his part.

I was stationary.

This week I phoned the insurance company to see how the claim was progressing, only to discover that the other person has given a completely different account of what happened.

I genuinely thought, “Are we even talking about the same incident?”

You sign to say the information you give is true — but if someone gives a completely false account, what are the consequences?

That is the part I’m finding so upsetting. The whole system feels incredibly unfair when the person telling the truth is left having to prove it, while risking their no-claims discount and being £400 out of pocket in the meantime.

Thankfully, I have photographs taken immediately afterwards, so now I just have to hope the evidence speaks for itself. by @sallyorrx

Then it was off to the V&A for Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art. Wonderful, exquisite, absolutely amazing — truly art. Elsa Schiaparelli touched on everything: clothes, accessories and the tiniest details, with inspiration ranging from the circus to surrealism and so much more. Couldn’t resist stepping onto the catwalk at Marks & Spencer Marble Arch while @marksandspencer celebrates 100 years of fashion.

I’ve been a fan for as long as I can remember — not quite a century though 😂

The black top came home with me — and my friend has promised we’ll find somewhere for me to wear it 🤭 by @sallyorrx

And we mustn’t forget Pottstown itself… 🇺🇸

Just outside Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, it’s a beautiful town — so well looked after, with no litter, gorgeous flowers everywhere and little fairy lights all lit up at night.

Founded in 1752, Pottstown grew around the iron and steel industries, and you can still see so much of its history in the amazing old buildings along High Street. I loved the Pottstown artwork created for L’oe Show — such a brilliant way of celebrating the area.

The people were so friendly, welcoming and clearly proud of where they live.

There were some lovely shops and restaurants too — Three Cousins Diner was a must, along with Argento’s and The Blue Elephant, housed in a beautiful former bank building.

A little music connection as well — Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates is from Pottstown

I wasn’t just at L’oe Show for the cars… I was actually working 😂

Of course, the reason for the trip was to see our son Jamie, who is behind L’oe Show. He was understandably flat out, but it was lovely just being there and seeing it all come together.

I spent the weekend on the Performance VW mag stand, meeting lots of lovely people, selling merch and talking subscriptions — with Les even arriving by e-bike with another delivery 😂

One of the best bits was finally meeting people I’d only ever known through Instagram. I hardly took any photos, which I regretted afterwards, so a big thank you to everyone who sent me some!

L’oe Show is a special event, made by the people who attend.

Thousands and thousands come together for the weekend — the VW and Audi community, the people of Pottstown, and visitors from near and far

And, of course… the cars! More than 1,000 fill downtown Pottstown — classics, amazing builds, and some very special cars in between.

The atmosphere is amazing — people catching up, making new friends and sharing a love of the cars that bring everyone together.

Still catching up… this was actually a week past Wednesday! 😂

Next stage of our journey to L’oe Show — New York to Pennsylvania.

We needed to get from Penn Station to somewhere we could be picked up, and ChatGPT suggested Paoli as the best station rather than travelling further than we needed to.

So off we went on the train — and waiting for us at Paoli was …. the Harlequin Atlas👏

Now we really were on our way to L’oe Show (Vw and Audi car show) in Pottstown PA by @sallyorrx
