Traveled to Costa Rica @tulavidacr last week to attend a retreat hosted by my friend and colleague, Melissa @wildhavennature My intention was to rest, reconnect, learn and recharge my creativity to put into my upcoming projects in the future. Happy to say that I checked all of those boxes including some "reprioritization" of my values and intention moving forward (thanks to my horse friends and the herd during sand play workshops). I can't wait to move forward with my own workshops and future Writing Retreat for Healers...coming soon. Stay tuned! #writing #retreats #alignment #healersretreat #coastalretreat by @saltairwellness

Sunday AM Reformer Pilates 💗☕️ For a long time, I overworked, kept myself busy with a million other things, and eventually burned myself out. And the first things I would cancel when I was tired, overwhelmed, or had too much going on? The things I actually LOVE doing. Working out, Pilates, and meal prepping (although my husband is WAY better at that last one 😂). Funny how those things are always the first to go. Today, as I was leaving Pilates, I had a little conversation with my parts. “Well, we made it back, girls! THREE classes this week!” 🎉 My active, fitness-loving parts that have been buried under years of responsibilities and overworking were cheering! And my tired, exhausted, introverted part? The one who would rather stay home, isolate, and recharge her battery? She said, “Thank you. I didn’t expect that. It was nice.” 🥹 I loved that. Sometimes I really do need to stay home, do absolutely nothing, and recharge. Other times, I think my tired parts forget how good it feels to get out and do something I enjoy. I’m learning to listen to all my parts a little more and make room for the things I enjoy, even when life gets busy. Anyone else find themselves giving up the things they love when life gets overwhelming? What have you been wanting to get back to? 💗 #sundaywellness #reformerpilates #selftrust #womenswellness #partswork by @saltairwellness
✨ Learning, growing, and supporting the people we serve. One of my favorite parts of being a therapist, educator, and speaker is connecting with other professionals who care deeply about the work they do. After nearly two decades in the mental health field, I still love learning, sharing ideas, and finding ways to make the work we do more informed, compassionate, and sustainable. Over the years, I’ve become especially invested in helping professionals better understand women’s mental health across the lifespan and supporting therapists in building practices that reflect their values, strengths, and interests. I’m excited to share my upcoming professional trainings! 🌸 Navigating Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders Understanding perinatal mental health, recognizing symptoms, and providing thoughtful, evidence-based care. 🌿 Supporting Women Through Perimenopause Exploring the intersection of hormonal changes, mental health, cognition, and emotional well-being. 🌈 Focus on Women with ADHD Looking beyond stereotypes to better understand how ADHD presents in women, including masking, hormonal influences, and common misdiagnoses. 💙 Create Your Signature Therapy Group Helping therapists turn their ideas and expertise into meaningful, well-designed therapy groups. My goal with every training is to create a space where professionals feel comfortable asking questions, sharing experiences, and walking away with something practical they can use in their work. Whether you’ve attended one of my trainings before or we’re just connecting for the first time, I’d love to have you join me! ✨ Explore upcoming trainings, registration, and replay options: www.karacruz.com/training #mentalhealthtraining #ceus #psychotherapy #womensmentalhealth #lmft by @saltairwellness
Well, there goes my 12-month countdown. 🩸😂 Perimenopause really does keep things interesting. Did you know that menopause is technically ONE day? ✨ Menopause is reached after 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period, assuming there isn’t another medical explanation. ✨ The years leading up to that milestone? That’s perimenopause. ✨ And after that one-year milestone? You’re officially postmenopausal. So every time Aunt Flo decides to make another appearance during perimenopause, the countdown starts over. 🙃 And yes, irregular periods, skipped cycles, and surprise visits can all be part of the experience. Just another fun chapter in the hormonal adventures of midlife womanhood. 🌈 P.S. Apparently I’ve reached the stage of life where I’m discussing my menstrual cycle with the entire internet. You’re welcome. 😂 Anyone else playing the world’s least entertaining waiting game? #perimenopause #menopausehumor #womenshealth #midlifewomen #menopauseawareness by @saltairwellness

Perinatal clients don’t always present with a clear “postpartum depression” or “postpartum anxiety” picture. Slowing down to explore what the symptom actually looks like, when it began, and what else may need to be screened can help us better understand what our clients are experiencing and what they need next. That’s what we’ll practice in NAVIGATING Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders: Screening, Diagnosis & Treatment, a practical 3-hour training for mental health professionals. 💻 Live online + replay included 📚 PMAD Resource Guide & Checklist included 💛 Early bird: $67 through October 16 Regular registration: $79 Link in bio or below to learn more + register. #postpartumanxiety #postpartumpsychosis #postpartummentalhealth #therapisttraining #postpartumsupport by @saltairwellness
Is it postpartum anxiety… or something else? A perinatal client says: “I can’t stop worrying.” “I keep checking.” “I don’t feel like myself.” “I know these thoughts don’t make sense, but I can’t get them out of my head.” “I thought this was just motherhood.” As clinicians, we can’t always assume the answer is postpartum depression or anxiety. PMADs can present in many different ways, and recognizing the differences matters. NAVIGATING Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders: Screening, Diagnosis & Treatment My 3-hour practical training for mental health professionals working with perinatal clients. We’ll cover: → PMAD presentations → Screening & assessment → Differential considerations → Safety & referral → Diagnosis & treatment considerations → Practical clinical tools Plus, you’ll receive my PMAD Resource Guide & Checklist. If you work with perinatal clients, I’d love to have you join me.
