She rises
from the ashes of silence,
from the memory of water,
from the pulse of the earth beneath her feet.

She is not seeking to be seen
she is remembering to be.

Softness is her strength,
stillness is her power,
love is her language.

She breathes,
and the world breathes with her.

You know… I’m learning to love all the seasons of being me.

And then, there are days when I bloom.
When I feel the life moving through me,
when my whole body is dancing with energy,
when I’m glowing, pulsating, overflowing with love.

Some days, I feel so delicate.
Like a flower opening its petals to the morning sun.
My heart is soft, my soul is quiet,

I’m drawn to things where you can still feel the hand that made them.

Handwoven fibres from Borneo.
Leather worked by hand.
Batik.
Ceramics shaped individually.
Natural fabrics with texture and movement.

I love materials that don’t stay perfectly unchanged.

Leather darkens.
Fabric softens.
Surfaces take on marks.
Texture develops into patina.

They become more personal the longer we live with them.

That is part of Sustainable Beauty for me.

I still wear some of the first Samadhi samples from 2018.

They’ve softened.
They’ve faded.
Some have torn and been mended.

And honestly, I often prefer them now.

There is something about a piece you have lived in for years. The fabric knows your body. The repairs become part of it. It carries places, memories, movement and time.

I would rather mend something I love than replace it because it no longer looks new.

To me, this is Sustainable Beauty.

Beauty that can age.
Beauty that can be repaired.
Beauty that becomes more yours the longer you live with it.

I think I finally found the words for something I have been creating for a very long time.

Sustainable Beauty.

Original and timeless expression.

Beauty that can age.
Wood that becomes more beautiful with use.
Clothes that soften, tear, get mended and stay with us.
Objects passed down from our ancestors.
Food that nourishes.
Homes with soul.
Things made by hand.
Nature. Craft. Patina. Character.

I believe we are here to create lives that reflect who we are.

Homes we feel good in.
Clothes that feel good on our bodies.
Food that nourishes us.
Work that uses what we are naturally good at.
People we feel ourselves around.
Nature we are connected to.
Space for creativity, spirituality, beauty and expression.

I call that Sustainable Beauty.

That is where Samadhi Living is going.
