“Felt like the storm opened a portal and we slipped into a little pocket of magic.”

These words from Third Angle Poet Anna Weaver, who served as organizer and host for this past weekend’s Poets Playground, perfectly encapsulated the evening.

We would like to thank everyone who joined us, and we are especially grateful to all of our incredible performers and our community partner, Youth ROCK, for helping create an unforgettable, enriching, and inspiring experience.

And we would be remiss if we didn’t thank @boxyardrtp for their continued support of the arts and for allowing us to utilize their dynamic space.

These photos offer just a glimpse into the energy that filled the space: an evening of poetry, community, creativity, connection, and celebration.

Please continue to support our artists and their respective platforms by following them, engaging with their work, and showing up for the art they continue to bring into the world.

29 and figuring it out: just as soon as you’re ready for love, you find it’s all around you everyday type shit. what a cliche (hate when they’re right). thank you for all the birthday love and little gestures of love everyday. what a miracle to be here still.

no plan now just feeling out what i wanna do then doing it. grateful for our paths that crossed and those who reached across the ( ) to make sure of it 🌸

closings and goodbyes get harder over the years for me. closing out a decade and opening up a new one soon. excited to find a new you to spend it with, and new me, too.

i’m coming to terms with the warm realization that i am not alone. loving myself mouth first — speaking up till we’re all honest and relaxed. see you on the other side.

Hello, I am PLEASURE. I mean, it’s a pleasure to be here with you. 🥵

I mean, I’m grateful I’m still here with you.

I mean, I’m still here and I’m so full of joy and pleasure and light and free and in the company of so many with generous hearts full and filling.

I mean sharing all of life with you, chaos and ugliness and bliss and rupture and love, helps me remember that pleasure matters, too.

🎙️🐁What I really mean is that I am proud of you. You the @thirdanglepoets who invested weekends and weeknights and browsweat and strained courage to pave new pathways in the souls.

🤳I’m proud of you who couldn’t join us but watched from afar and took a deep breath to invite life’s other moments with greater warmth.

🛌I’m proud of you who fought momentously and alone with all the voices shouting of lack and doubt and despair and hunger and shame and self-rejection, still here, here you are.

🌅I’m proud of you who’s proud of you for stepping back into the light to turn the bulb brighter with belief in the togetherness and sharing and vulnerability that sparks all power to move the body into love anew.

— I’m proud of me too, sleepless and enduring and trying hard to love with my best and learn with my worst.

🌎🌍🌏🌞I’m gawking so smiley and enamored to have joined each of you to make Triangle Poetry Festival a reality. So much talent and daring artistry and hope. So much love out in the open. Don’t fear the end of the world.

The new world is born. With it, the new you. We had a lot to complain about in the old world, didn’t we? I can’t wait to meet you again — perhaps we pretend it’s for the first time.
