On the 13th of December, over 300 of us hit the beautiful shores and waterways of Hutt City. More than 2.6 tonnes removed!

Thank you so much @samjuddnz for inviting me to join the Sustainable Coastlines cleanup up crew on Matiu/Somes Island yesterday as part of the massive multi-site Lower Hutt cleanup day. @briony.millar and I had a fantastic adventure for good - rock hopping, scrambling over cliffs, crawling through the very scratchy scrub, with the accompanying cacophony of gulls, penguins in the sea and in burrows, and slithering skinks. A really interesting mix of rubbish and thankfully maybe a little less than expected, and most of all a fantastic group of volunteers from local Iwi to @spiritofadventurenz crew. Such a huge operation with divers in the water, barges and boats and hundreds of volunteers across many sites, but seamlessly run. Well done Sam! taken in Matiu / Somes Island by @samjuddnz
