POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We had to say goodbye to our best friend Kona last week. She was my rock, my anchor, my solace. I could look across the room at her and into her eyes and feel her love just radiating through me. She was legendary, and had such a unique, and often very silly, way of being that just made people smile or laugh. We’re feeling her absence like a hole in the heart. My soul dog. I loved seeing the world through her eyes. I hope I can continue a relationship with her in this new phase of her existence, through her sweet, sweet spirit. I love you, my angel ❤️. by @sammykimura

We are all one creative force, 30x40in, acrylic on canvas, 2026

I find painting to be about letting go of attachments, something that’s really hard in daily life and only a little less hard in painting. The lesson is to constantly release elements and moments and let it become what it wants to become. #figurativeart #acrylicpainting by @sammykimura

Hassaan & Navy pt. I, 36x48 in, acrylic on recycled canvas, 2026.

What fun it was to paint my dear friends as the first part of a big series exploring queer relationships and queer identity. I’m looking forward to learning from/about these partnerships and the expansive joy and love they hold. I could have hung out all day in Hassaan & Navy’s apartment with them (and they’re elusive cat Zombie). I’m glad I got to capture a snippet of who they are together ❤️ by @sammykimura

Clear day, acrylic on canvas, 2026. I’m so grateful for everyone who has commissioned me and bought original work from me over the last almost 10 years. I’m lucky to have work all over the US and even in some other countries. Thanks for all the love and support ❤️ by @sammykimura
