Fresh off seeing him for the first time at @come_bye_festival this weekend, it’s time to talk about our 2nd headliner

Introducing… @sampv____ 👑

Sam grew up in London, his tastes moulded by the city’s diverse dance music scenes: from childhood trips to Notting Hill Carnival, to formative dancefloor experiences at nights like FWD, Trash and Süd Electronic. He brings these influences to his DJing in sets that span a broad gamut of genres, tied together by a love for big drums, pop melodies, sensual sub-bass and sleaze.

Frustrated by the lack of queer spaces where you could hear both a Svek record and Kylie in the same night, Sam founded @pumpingvelvetldn in 2018, driven by the belief that the barriers erected between pop and ‘serious’ dance music are entirely artificial. It’s this same ethos and disregard for boundaries that makes his DJ so thrilling.

In 2025 Sam established a second London party @brama______ as an inclusive space for dancers of all persuasions that highlights the deeper side of dance music. Alongside his residencies at both Brama and Pumping Velvet Sam is often to be found playing across the UK and the US, at venues such as Good Room and Hot Mass, alongside other international gigs including Planeta Manas (Lisbon), Savage (Hanoi), Kockiri (Seoul) and (Re)treat Festival (Vietnam).

Never afraid to take risks, Sam knows that there is no such thing as a guilty pleasure - a perfect mixture of quality dance music and reminding us that the dancefloor is a space for fun and to not take yourself too seriously.

We cannot wait for Sam and Sofie to take over the controls at Wharf for what will be a seriously fun couple of hours. 🪩

🚨 Biodiversity 003 - Sofie K b2b Sam PV (NTS/Pumping Velvet), Frantasia, Joe FM
🏠 Wharf Chambers
🗓️ Friday 2nd October
🕰️ 12-4am
🌳 Raising funds for Earth Daughters

After a summer hiatus, we return to @wharfchamberscc with London party starters Sofie K and @sampv____ joining us for a b2b, alongside Leeds legends and power couple @james.frances and @anamcgarel 🎉

Sofie K:
Known for their monthly NTS residency ‘Work Out’, Sofie is a master of sleazey house, disco and italo. A regular at venues across the UK, Sofie also has a strong track record for supporting not-for-profit parties and other charitable causes. Sofie is someone we have been wanting to book for some time - guaranteed bangers and a big heart to go with it! For us, Sofia is one of the true underground heroes of our scene 👑

Sam PV:
Sam is the head honcho of London-based queer party @pumpingvelvetldn . Growing up going to Notting Hill Carnival and FWD, Sam expertly treads a boundary between soundsystem pressure and the upbeat house and pumpers that you might more regularly associate with a queer party. Never afraid to take risks, Sam knows that there is no such thing as a guilty pleasure - a perfect mixture of quality dance music and reminding us that the dancefloor is a space for fun 🤩

No strangers to a b2b due to playing together regularly at Pumping Velvet, we cannot wait for them to take over the controls for what will be a seriously fun couple of hours 💃

Warming up we have @soulpotentialmusic and @fridayfeelingleeds bosses James Frances and Ana Daya playing b2b as ‘Frantasia’ 🪩
Our resident @joefm_92 will be bringing us home for the final hour 💫

05/09 Sat.｜No one knows the way to heaven, but we keep dancing anyway……

Hey babes, those nights we kept dreaming of never really left us. They stayed in our bodies, in sweat, hugs, kisses, and all the secrets that never quite made it into words. On 9th May, we want to turn the dancefloor at ILLUM into a time machine that belongs to the present. It won’t take us back to a complete past, nor promise us a distant future. It will simply let those old summer joys and unnamed intimacies return to us, just for this night. :)

Date: 2026/05/09
Time: 10pm - late
Address: ILLUM CLUB
上海市长宁区昭化路658号 C · PARK LG层

Coming out of DJ hibernation with two extra special gigs ✨

First up it’s the one and only Gwenan’s bday celebration on Sunday at the @friendsofthelion with a line up of wonderful friends, where I’ll be closing things out with a special guest from 6pm 🤫

Then on Saturday 28th March it’s the line up of dreams as I open things up with my favourite sparring partner @joedelon before two of my all time favourite DJs @mikeservito & @ciel_dj shut it down and bbs @darwinstapel & @damiana.rec on the boat. Hit me up for our discount community tickets 💕 by @sampv____
