October arrives at Sam's Table.

Our new Chef's Tasting Menu begins this Thursday, featuring ingredients that capture the season, from New Jersey candy roaster squash and local ocean trout to Snapdragon apples and candy cap mushrooms.

We can't wait to cook for you.

On Sunday, Edible Jersey attended a seven-course tasting dinner to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Sam’s Table in Montclair, NJ!

We indulged in incredible dishes with a mushroom focus (thanks to Dan Lipow of @theforagedfeast), including rabbit with fermented mushroom duxelles, skate with chanterelles and a brown butter beurre blanc, and even porcini ice cream. It was such a wonderful meal to celebrate good people!

Operating a restaurant these days is no easy feat—cheers to one year, Sam and Deborah, and to many more!

Wow! What an incredible dinner @samstablenj celebrating their 1-year anniversary and our 12-year wedding anniversary! Our first anniversary is almost here!

We're so excited to celebrate with many people who have been a part of our story including our great team, guests who keep coming back, writers who cover us, and farmers and foragers like Dan Lipow from The Foraged Feast.

On Sunday, Dan, Chef Sam and the team are bringing together seven courses, mushrooms in each, for a dinner that celebrates the ingredients, people and community that have brought us this far.

A year ago we opened the doors at Sam's Table. Since then, every month has started the same way: with what arrives from the farmers, foragers and fishermen who bring us the ingredients that shape every new menu.

Dan Lipow of The Foraged Feast has been part of our story from the beginning. His mushrooms have found their way onto our plates throughout the year.

That's why we found it fitting that he be a part of our birthday celebration. Sam, Dam and the team are celebrating with a 7-course menu with mushrooms throughout. It promises to be a meal to remember.

At Sam's Table, the menu starts with a box from a farmer, a catch from a fisherman, a haul from a forager.

Sam and the team see what's best and start cooking. That's how the new menu begins, every month.

This month, the menu features chanterelles, heirloom beans, Kyoto carrots, local corn, Jimmy Nardello peppers, foraged mushrooms, figs and more.

For the past year, we've introduced new menus every month. We can do that because we start with ingredients. What's being harvested. What's coming out of the water. What's arriving at our door at its absolute best.

We can do that because of people like Dan Lipow from The foraged Feast. He's one of the people who bring the ingredients that give Sam and the team the freedom to keep creating and changing with each season.

So for our first birthday, Dan is joining us in the kitchen.

On Sunday, September 27, Sam's Table and Thw Foraged Feast will come together for a seven course dinner centered around one of Dan's specialties -- mushrooms.

We're really looking forward to this one. Hope you can join us.

Current state of mind: Every dish at Sam’s Table was plated like a work of art. 🎨
