On Thursday, October 8, we return to Heim for a night shaped around rhythm, space and connection.

Bringing together a carefully selected lineup of DJs from different corners of Shanghai’s underground scene, the night moves through warm grooves, leftfield textures, house, bass and deeper club sounds allowing the music to unfold naturally rather than following a fixed formula.

The lineup features JRG, Sam TBD, Secret guest with DJ Benimaru opening the night.

No hierarchy, no rush just a shared space, a good sound system, and a dancefloor that gradually finds its own rhythm.

See you at Heim. by @samtbd

游山 YOUSHAN Artist | Sam Tbd

Based in Shanghai, Sam Tbd has become one of the city’s most influential figures in underground electronic music, combining his work as a DJ, curator, and community builder. As the former managing partner and music director of Elevator, he helped shape one of China’s most celebrated club spaces, creating a home where international pioneers, emerging local artists, and adventurous audiences came together on equal footing.

Inspired by the house traditions of Chicago and New York, alongside the dubby, spacey sounds of Detroit, the UK, and beyond, Sam approaches every set with openness and curiosity. Rather than following a fixed plan, he lets each journey unfold in the moment, discovering the dancefloor together with the crowd. Today, through his party and label MEDUSA, he continues to champion forward-thinking dance music while nurturing communities across China and Asia.

This July, Sam Tbd brings his unmistakable Shanghai energy to the valley.

Sam Tbd - formerly Mau Mau - tracks down and blends up grooves he wants to dance to,connecting with others through movement and music. He doesn’t know whathe’s going to do before his set starts-he gets to dis-
cover it with you.
Sam Tbd is inspired by house pioneers of Chicago and New York and by spacey, dubby sounds from Detroit, the UK and all over the world. His train- ing was late nights and early mornings immersed in music(and sweat) on Shanghai dancefloors. He’s grateful to have had chances to contribute to local and regional scenes, and feels lucky to have shared the decks with some of his heroes: Eris Drew and Octo Octa,Ben Ufo,Hunee, Solar, Efde-
min and Move D.
Sam Tbd was managing partner and music director of Elevator(2016-2023),creating a place where world-class artists mixed with emerging local and regional talent, labels and strange concepts were born, and a safe space was held for every kind of raver to get lost on the dance-
floor together.
Sam Tbd’s love for the past, present and future of dance music shines through MEDUSA,the party/label he calls home.MEDUSA tours across China and Asia with some of Shanghai’s fiercestDJs and artists, building
over-the-top nightlife experiences on a community foundation. taken in Hangzhou, China by @samtbd

Shall we dance??? Yoooooo our third compilation, Baby Dance Machine, is out on Bandcamp and everywhere else. Peep the link in our bio.

A big reason we continue Love Bang is to give a home for our friends to release music and to push ourselves to produce and release more. Because tracks are eternal!⁣

Everyone on this release is a friend we’ve known for years if not decades. The tales run deep, from Michigan basements and Chinese train stations to raves at abandoned Barbie flagship stores, beat battles, and walks home from venues at dawn. Stoked to release this collection of tunes from everyone.
⁣
Much love to everyone involved and everyone who’s been a part of Love Bang’s 16-year long adventure. Lots more music coming in 2026! ⁣
⁣
BABY DANCE MACHINE, the third compilation from Shanghai-based label, Love Bang, is a collection of tracks dedicated to the club, the act of dancing, and to the recently AI-discovered organ, Ossiculo-Neurokinetic Rhythmodrome (Subtype β-79), a.k.a., ONKR-79, a.k.a., Baby Dance Machine, which as we all know now is responsible for dancing. To celebrate the grand discovery of this grand organ, Love Bang Corporation asked eight producers to make a song dedicated to Baby Dance Machine, and to dancing. These producers all connected through Shanghai City, the clubs there, and – yerp, you guessed ‘er – dancin’. ⁣
