The clock is ticking now
And there is no time to wait
We must stand for life on Earth
Against the forces of greed and hate

We never give up
We keep showing up
In love we trust
The earth loves us

The time has come to come together
Make a stand like never before
From town to town, city to city
Sea to sea and shore to shore

There are those who are sick with power
Sick with selfishness
Lost in games of numbers
Wasting the gift of this

But times are changing fast
And they cannot stay the same
We must change the laws, change our minds
Change the world, and change the game

We never give up
We keep showing up
In Love we trust
The Earth loves us

The time has come to come together
Make a stand like never before
From town to town, city to city
Sea to sea and shore to shore

💧 This #ImagineADayWithoutWater, we’re highlighting how PolicyLink, which anchors the #WECRCaucus, is advancing #WaterAffordabilityForAll.

Speaking about @reprashida and @repdingell ‘s push for permanent federal water assistance, @policylink ‘s Yasmin Zaerpoor emphasized the national need: an estimated 30 to 48 million people live in households facing unaffordable water bills.

The Caucus helped inform the Water Access and Affordability Act, which would establish permanent assistance for low-income households’ water and wastewater bills and protect participating families from shutoffs.

Keeping water safe requires investment, but families already facing unaffordable bills cannot shoulder the cost. Federal assistance and investment in public water systems can help keep water within reach.

Learn more about the Caucus’ vision for water affordability at climatewaterequity.org.

💧 A water shutoff takes away a family’s ability to cook dinner, bathe their children, and care for themselves at home. No one should lose those necessities because they cannot afford the bill.

Everyone has a right to #SafeAffordableWater, at any income. Protecting that right takes sustained federal investment in public water systems, rates that account for household income, and permanent federal water assistance.

Keeping water safe and affordable is a public responsibility. Our policies should ensure no family has to choose between water and other essentials.

@friendsofwhitefishpoint are dedicated to research, conservation, education and protection in one of the most important bird migration hotspots in the world. @peter_madcat @jordanhamiltonmusic and I made the trek up in peak color season (just before the gales of november turned gloomy) and rocked a joyful house show to support the cause, making new friends, and then we headed to the research station and got to observe late night owl banding and see a few magical saw whet owls up close! Many thanks and much love to Nova and Chris for all that you do! by @samuelsethbernard

Happy Indigenous Peoples Day across Turtle Island and beyond! And a special thanks to all the participants that continue to carry the Indigenous teachings around the Water Protectors Training Camp. The sacred time together at this summers collaborative Peace Camp in the upper peninsula with the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Michigan left participants and Title Track instructors inspired and centered within actions that honor Tribal communities, homelands and waters. It was an honor to share my songs as a part of the mighty @nmsmallfarmconference last week! Heaps of gratitude to all the farmers for doing what you do and to @shortsbrewing and the village of Bellaire for hosting this transformational gathering! My life in this precious part of the world would be very different without the sustained efforts of @crosshatchmi - an organization worth knowing and supporting. The story of their work will give you hope and inspiration.

Crosshatch Center for Art and Ecology is rooted in the truth that the arts and ecology are intertwined and essential to enriching community. They provide resources for their community to become stronger, more self reliant and more native to place. This includes organizing workshops, courses, conferences (like this one!), guilds of like-minded individuals, and much much more. by @samuelsethbernard

Headed to the Upper Peninsula with the legend Frank Youngman as part of the @hiawathamusic Master Artist series! Over a stretch of days we’ll visit local schools, play a public concert (Oct 22), and offer two workshops (Oct 24) at The Fold, thier venue in downtown Marquette.

The first workshop is called “singer songwriter” and the second is “songs of water”. Expect an intergenerational creative expedition that will be accessible to anyone regardless of previous experience and will enliven your inner songwriter and water protector!

For almost 50 years, the Hiawatha Music Co-op has provided and promoted traditional music and dance, to educate and inform society about traditional American music, and to encourage the appreciation of this music through their annual festival and various year-round events. taken in Marquette, MI, Lake Superior by @samuelsethbernard

Many thanks to these fine fellows for having me on their Michigan Music History Podcast at the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame in the Historical Museum of Bay County! We went deep into music, activism, and solidarity work and I told a lot of stories! Look for this episode to drop later this year and check out the museum and podcast when you can! taken in Bay County Historical Society by @samuelsethbernard
