What happens when someone gets close enough to grab you?

Combat Set 4 breaks down how to respond when an opponent grabs you. We start by pulling the opponent into a clinch to gain control and limit their movement. From there, we follow up with a knee strike, then finish with an elbow and palm heel using the same hand. taken in Red Dragon Glendora by @samurai__jackz

When your opponent gives you a split second of hesitation, you take that opportunity to use your Dive Blitz.

Sparring Offense 1, the Dive Blitz, starts with a fast lead hand straight to the head and immediately follow with a backhand to the body, changing levels and finishing the exchange before they can block or counter. It is the simplest, but most highly effective technique in point sparring.

What happens when someone keeps moving toward you and backing up isn’t an option?

Combat Set 1 breaks that moment down into a simple, but highly effective response. We start with a thrust kick to stop forward momentum, and to create space. We then follow up with two hammer fists targeting the nose. taken in Red Dragon Glendora by @samurai__jackz
