We’re SANDAG, the San Diego Association of Governments. We represent San Diego County, 18 cities, 17 federally recognized tribal governments, and you!

We plan and build transportation projects for the San Diego region, while also providing important funding and resources to the County and each of the cities through the TransNet Program.

New artwork in Logan Heights! 🎨

Caltrans and @loganheightscdc unveiled new murals under the 5 and 15 along Imperial Avenue. ✨

With funding from Caltrans through the #CleanCA initiative, more than a dozen local artists brought the murals to life. This project reflects the creativity, resilience, and cultural pride of the community.

💳 SANDAG provides subsidies of up to $600 to help cover lease costs. Plus, the first 10 new vanpools will receive $200 in gas cards.

Exciting news! 🎀 A new 1.1-mile section of the Inland Rail Trail is now open in the City of Vista, creating more than 12 miles of separated pathway for people walking, biking, and rolling from Vista through San Marcos to Escondido.

💎 Celebrating the 2026 Diamond Awards recipients! Thank you to all 146 recipients for promoting sustainable commute choices in the San Diego region. This year, our Platinum‑tier recipients were responsible for:
🔹 Reducing more than 976,000 vehicle miles traveled
🔹 Reducing more than 83,000 tons of CO₂ emissions

For the first time, SANDAG also recognized achievements across the Employer, School, and Residential Commuter Programs, highlighting the region's progress in expanding sustainable commute choices. 👏

🥳 Celebrate the newest section of the Inland Rail Trail with a family-friendly group bike ride on Saturday, September 26! Bring your bike and helmet, and join us as we ride together to Cyclovia Vista. This 2-mile ride is designed for people of all ages and abilities and will be led by the @sdbikecoalition. 🚴 🚴 🚴

📅 Details:

🟣 8:30 a.m.: Meet at the entrance to the Inland Rail Trail at Mar Vista Drive and Phillips Street.

🟣 9–9:30 a.m.: Stop at the Civic Center - Vista Station for the Inland Rail Trail Phase 3 ribbon cutting and press conference (810 Phillips Street, Vista, CA 92083).

🟣 10 a.m.: End at Cyclovia Vista (East Broadway, Vista, CA 92083).

Night owls, this is for you 🌙✈️

The @sdmts Route 992 takes you direct to SAN from Downtown San Diego—and it’s about to get even more convenient.

Beginning Sunday, September 6, evening service is increasing, with buses arriving every 15 minutes as part of a new initiative with @sdmts and @sandagregion

More passengers are choosing transit to connect to their next destination, with ridership on the 992 up ⬆️ 58% since 2022.

Try it for yourself on one of SAN’s newly relocated bus stops at the departure-level roadway for a smooth airport to city journey.

🦉 Night owls, traveling to or from the airport? ✈️You can now enjoy more frequent nighttime service on bus 992. Starting September 6, 2026, service is increasing to every 15 minutes during daily operations (4:30–1 a.m.).
