Video proof of how this has held up over the last 2 years! My bf is not careful and uses his laptop every day for work and play. So I'm glad that this has proven to be sturdy, esp at the corners which is usually taking the most damage.

Hope you enjoy this brief resurrection from me. I'll go back to my endless pit of misery. I'm looking for a new job so yeah, won't lie, I could be doing better 😩

Closeup of the button placement! When you make things yourself, you put thought into cute details like this. If this were for me, I'd have immediately done a red clown nose 🤡 but it's for my bf and he liked this rainbow button.

Here's the other side of the laptop case! I made this for my bf who is still using it 2 years later. I'll share in my stories how it has held up, I am very pleased! And of course the one time he doesn't put his laptop in this case, for a weekend away, his screen broke. So I'm not saying you need this, but I'm happy to report that this thing I made is doing its job well!

Lemme just preface this: I'm not really a Taylor Swift fan, I just never got into it and I don't intend to. But I did see the cute sweater she released for one of her songs/albums/idk. We cannot escape her influence and I accept that. As soon as I saw it, I thought, I wanna knit that. This was my first cable knit project and it was so satisfying. 🤤 I also learned a lot about cables! The pattern was easy to follow and also FREE! Highly recommend bc this is one of my favorite knits that pairs so easily over any outfit!!

The only adjustment I made was I cast on/off with a tubular cast on for the squishiest stretchiest edges 🥰 and I omitted the star elbow patches.

Been quiet here but little life update! This has been a dark looming cloud over my head but I just want to share that I've officially passed my integration exams for the Netherlands. This involves the following (for me):

- Living consistently in the Netherlands for 5+ years under a valid visa
- Completing the participatieverklaring traject which was 10 hours of participation in dutch norms and values workshops
- Dutch language exams (yes plural, multiple exams, 5 to be exact) at a B1 level

According to the requirements of this land, I am fully integrated. Some are allowed to get their citizenship by completing A2 language level (which is basically toddler level), I was not allowed and had to take the exams at a B1 level (functioning adult level). The jump between the levels is no joke. But I'm proud that I overcame it! So grateful to everyone who helped me with the language learning. ❤️ My goal is eventually to get to C1/C2, obviously, bc I'm American and Asian, so I need to be the better than the best. Also I'm a language nerd, and Dutch would be my 4th language 😆

Nu ben ik officieel geen Nederlandse burger. Dat kost nog eens 1.000 euro extra, en die kan ik op dit moment niet missen (helloooo ik heb een huis te bouwen). Maar ik ben ook nog niet verplicht om het burgerschap aan te vragen en mijn huidige nationaliteit is prima (ik doe afstand van mijn Amerikaanse nationaliteit niet!). Maar als het zover is, zal ik in ieder geval een verblijfsvergunning voor onbepaalde tijd aanvragen omdat ik dat kan 😊

If you read that far, pls swipe to see a very old picture of me in Amsterdam from 20 years ago or something. I hated Amsterdam, and never in a million years thought to live in the Netherlands. France, definitely! Norway, yes pls!! Netherlands...why? Last picture says why 😅

I made this last year! It is very impractical for Dutch weather but I felt like making something colorful and to use my cotton stash. This is great for festivals if I ever go to any on a warm day 😅

Little life update: all my stuff is still in boxes but at least it has all been moved to the new house officially! We are renovating so the house is a mess. My new hobby is basically working on the house, no time for fiber arts. And I have expensive and unique taste so we have to do everything ourselves. I also finished all my integration exams! So I will find out my citizenship status pretty fucking soon, I'll officially be a Dutch citizen whether the (extreme right and inbred 🖕) natives like it or not 😬 And finally, I've been at a new job for the last few weeks...going good so far. Cool to finally achieve some goals!

Made this baby 3 years ago for my bfs mother! It came in a kit that I bought from the handwerkbeurs, and thought she would enjoy making it! But she found it too challenging, so I ended up taking the joy of making it. Let me just say...it was challenging!! Not only was the pattern all in dutch, parts of it didn't really make sense construction wise. But I managed and she keeps it proudly in the living room! 😅

No new stuff being made by me atm...I've been neck deep in moving (so everything is in boxes) and integrating (so all my free time is spent studying). I am making progress but I'm still not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

Wow I really apologize for not posting any of my projects for a year! Tbh, I think I was feeling really constrained by doing the 3 photos per project to keep the grid organized thing. I started doing that before IG had the multiple images for one post functionality. Therefore, I won't be following any order. I will return to chaos! Bc entropy happens. I will post whatever amount of whatever I want!

Anyways, here's my man's sister wearing a sweater I knitted for her 🥰 it was such a joy to make, that I will likely make it again! I also tried it on myself to see if I should make the same size for myself.

Hopefully I'll be better about posting again, I do have a backlog of makes that I just never graced to my feed. I shall try to do better.
