10,000 toys. 59 families. 9 years of impact. ❤️🧸🎁

With the incredible support of @b96chicago , our sponsors, partners, and volunteers, we collected 10,000 toys — bringing our 9-year total to over 40,000 toys distributed across Chicago communities.

This Christmas, 59 sponsored families experienced joy, relief, and the reminder that they are not alone.

Dear little Sandi,

Look at us. We made it to 45. 💙

There are so many things I wish I could tell you.

You’re going to have some beautiful days, and you’re going to have some hard ones too. People will come into your life who will love you, teach you, disappoint you and change you.

But that big heart of yours? Keep it.

One day, you’re going to use it to help a whole lot of people.

You’re going to walk into rooms you never imagined you’d be in. You’re going to build things from nothing. You’re going to take chances, start over, love hard, lose some things, find yourself again and learn that sometimes the scariest decisions lead to the life that was waiting for you.
We won’t live in fear or with regrets. We will also TRAVEL as often as possible because you deserve to see the world.
And that little girl who always wanted to make everybody proud?

Baby, I’m proud of you.

Not because of the awards, titles or accomplishments.

I’m proud that you stayed kind.
I’m proud that you kept going.
I’m proud that you never stopped caring about people.
And I’m proud that after 45 years, there’s still so much of you in me.

If I could hug you for real, I’d hold you a little longer and whisper:

Don’t be afraid of your life.

Yesterday, ChiGivesBack was honored with an official proclamation recognizing the impact we’ve made in the Chicago community.

What makes this moment so special is knowing how many people and how many years of love, service, sacrifice, and beliefare represented in this recognition.

What began with a vision from our founders, Sandi Robinson @sandirobinson13 and John Boddie @j.boddie_ , has grown into a movement powered by people who believe that community is something you build, nurture, and show up for.

A special thank you to Mayor Brandon Johnson @chicagosmayor for recognizing ChiGivesBack and honoring the work of the countless people who have invested in our mission to “pay it forward by giving back”.

To our incredible team, Board of Directors, volunteers, donors, sponsors, partners, and supporters: this recognition belongs to you, too. Every hour volunteered, dollar donated, partnership formed, event supported, and life touched has helped shape the ChiGivesBack story.

And to the communities who have trusted us to serve you, we thank you.

A proclamation is an incredible honor, but for us, it represents something even greater: proof that collective action creates lasting impact.

We are proud of where we’ve been. Grateful for everyone who helped us get here. And more committed than ever to where we’re going.

Every year, we host #Teach2Give, where educators can nominate themselves or be nominated by someone who recognizes the incredible work they do.

Since 2018, we’ve had the privilege of equipping 400 educators with school supplies to help kick off a new school year. But what continues to impact us the most isn’t just the number, it’s the emotion.

Each year, teachers walk into a room filled with tables of school supplies, and the look on their faces says it all. We’ve witnessed tears of gratitude, smiles of relief, and a level of excitement we never expected when we first started. Now, we’ve come to expect those moments because they remind us why we continue this work.

A heartfelt thank you to @target & @mr_ballen for standing with us since day one and providing approximately 85% of the school supplies each year. Your unwavering commitment has made this initiative possible.

A special thank you to the @cmacdeltas Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. CMAC Chapter for providing the remaining supplies and helping ensure every educator leaves with the resources they need to start the year strong. AND for showing up to not only organize but distribute the supplies this past Saturday. We truly appreciate your level of service to our community ❤️

To every educator who pours into our children every single day: This is for you. We see you, we appreciate you, and we are honored to celebrate you.

We cannot wait to celebrate you alongside your colleagues, friends, and family next Tuesday at The Godfrey Hotel. What started in 2018 has become one of our favorite @chigivesback , Inc traditions, and we’re looking forward to another unforgettable evening of recognizing the educators who make such a lasting impact on our communities.

Because the truth is simple: there would be none of us without our teachers. ❤️🍎📚

There are some moments that feel different… and this was one of them.

I am incredibly honored and grateful to have been recognized with the Phenomenal Woman Award – Emerging Entrepreneur through @bwenext
To receive this recognition at the beautiful Obama Presidential Center made the moment even more special.

Over the years, I’ve been blessed to receive many awards, and I have never taken a single one for granted. But this one holds a unique place in my heart because it’s the first award that recognizes me as an entrepreneur.

Happy 72nd Birthday to my favorite girl. ❤️

For as long as I can remember, it has always been you and me. Through every season of my life, you have been my constant, my safe place, my biggest supporter, and my home.

There is no Sandi without you. So much of who I am is because of the woman you are and the love you have given me my entire life.
