What a whirlwind 🌀

I’ve just had the most beautiful couple of weeks visiting Australia’s first Dark Sky Park in the Warrumbungles, then heading to @cementafestival in Kandos.

My head is full of beauty now. ✨

Feeling really proud of myself. A year ago, so much of this wouldn’t have been possible for me. It feels pretty amazing to be here, doing all of this again.

…And spring is only just revving up! 🌹💗

🌀As above so below🌀

I looked at this fern under a microscope, and realised there were spirals on it, just like how its young fronds manifest.
And then I played around with printing it, and other spiral forms on leaves with chlorophyll printing.

excerpt from: The Body Is The Doorway - @cosmogyny

Drawing inspired by this quote and also that YouTube video when the guy found the dead fish and the butterflies were drinking it’s tears and salts

Please ignore the tattoo on my hand, I got it when I was 18 and I’m getting it removed/ covered up soon 🤣

There is a theory that the universe operates on binary code. And it suggests that all matter, energy, and physical laws could ultimately be reduced to informational 1s and 0s. like a giant cosmic computer

this is interesting to ponder, because it’s an as above so below moment. Potentially we are just expressing the structure of the universe through our own creations…

For this chlorophyll print I explored that by going out on a little mission, and walking around until I found the best leaves.
I loved that process

I 3D scanned this leaf and then printed it directly onto itself.

The binary code on the last leaves is a quote by Mandelbrot which says :
“nature is not a collection of objects but a vast self-processing system”

Anyway, some food for thought 💚

Chlorophyll prints 🍀
These were made for Communia Omnia, they were so fun to make, i loved the process of collecting the leaves from special places and then immediately printing on them.

These images were printed directly onto leaves using chlorophyll printing, a natural photographic process that uses sunlight to bleach an image onto the surface of a living leaf.
I Was exploring microcosms and macrocosms, so I put images of leaves on leaves, which I found absolutely hilarious when I was doing it.

finding them again in the shed has made me really appreciate this ephemeral work.
The leaves keep changing, shrinking, becoming more brittle and decaying.
And that’s a beautiful part of their story.
They are inspiring me to do something new and sick ass

…its special and beautiful

Anyway this piece is still for sale ❤️ buy it and support the lock up

My Work “the same breath… moved through me, moved through you” at @thecreatorincubator Birthday exhibition 9x9

I really love these poetic works. And I love that other people love them too.
Thankyou for purchasing mystery buyer ❤️
It’s been a massive hurdle trying to think about how I can make art going forward after chronic illness hit.
But this is definitely a promising direction for me.
