What a Stay .... at The Elgin Fairlawn in Kolkata -- the 18th-century heritage hotel on Sudder Street with its old-world colonial charm, vintage memorabilia, and central location near New Market, learnt that it has hosted notable artists, actors, and writers for decades.

Built in 1783 .... Originally constructed as a colonial bungalow during the time of Warren Hastings, it became Canada House for the Canadian Air Force personnel during World War II.

Shashi Kapoor & Jennifer Kendal honeymooned at the property, and Room 17 is dedicated to his memory.... I was in 11. Further The Kendal Family - Geoffrey and Laura Kendal(founders of Shakespeareana) stayed here for nearly 30 years. Also had visitors like Patrick Swayze during the filming ofCity of Joy and colorful personalities like the 1950s professional wrestler "King Kong".

My stay I truly experienced being part of that History ❤️🎶🎊

What a feel at the Indian Coffee House on College Street in Kolkata !!! Famous for it being the historic heart of the city's intellectual "adda" & culture.

Wondering that I am here.. at the very place which served as the main meeting ground where legendary poets, writers, artists, filmmakers, and politicians gathered to debate culture, literature, and revolution... in short a Cultural and Historical Hub... And I was there ... wowww

Was given to understand that the place where I was sitting had icons like filmmaker Satyajit Ray, economist Amartya Sen, poet Sunil Gangopadhyay, and foreign visitors like Allen Ginsberg..... ufffff

Countless literary and political movements in Bengal started over cups of coffee here. It was the inspiration of Manna Dey's famous Bengali song"Coffee House-er Sei Adda-ta". The historic 19th-century building (formerly Albert Hall, founded in 1876), features high ceilings, long-hanging fans, rustic decor, and waiters in traditional white uniforms.... Hari being one of them.
