Tonight Come From Away was performed in Gander and at Ground Zero. It was incredibly moving, seeing our CFA family reunite to remember and commemorate both our history together over the last decade and also the shared history between our two countries. “You are here” meant something different tonight and we are incredibly honoured to have this story told in both places.

Before the show, I visited the 9/11 Museum to see the new “In Their Honor” exhibit of ways that people have been inspired to serve, which includes a section on our show. We first visited the museum years ago and it helped us contextualize the show as a 9/12 story - so to have our show’s history included here is a profound honor that I am deeply grateful for.

Very grateful also to our incredible friends in Newfoundland for sharing their history with us and with the world. I wish we could be in both places at once, but I also know that you are 💯 here. Thanks to all for a beautiful week of remembrance and commemoration.

Haven’t had a chance to post about our gorgeous TheatreWorks Silicon Valley adventure where I got married to Mariska Hargitay (when she did Every Beautiful Thing as a benefit show), we shared Cut From Away songs from Come From Away, and for the first time, we shared the full script of our new musical Vienna - and it went pretty great, mostly thanks to an insanely wonderful team on and offstage. Plus we laughed a lot, we ate badly but deliciously, and wonderful friends flew in to the see the show. Thanks to everyone for helping us end the summer on a truly high note! by @sankoffandhein

The New York Times just did a lovely front page story about Come From Away. Huge thanks to Michael Paulson for traveling again out to Gander. https://www.nytimes.com/video/theater/100000011077905/come-from-away-comes-home.html?smid=url-share https://www.nytimes.com/video/theater/100000011077905/come-from-away-comes-home.html?smid=url-share Come From Away Gander 💙💛 by @sankoffandhein

Sharing Cut From Away was such a joy last night, raising money for one of our favorite theater communities TheatreWorks Silicon Valley and sharing song and stories with folks we love. Thanks to everyone involved! 💙💛 by @sankoffandhein

Terribly sad and shocked to hear of Glen’s passing. We were about to workshop our musical this fall. I was just listening to his incredible songs - which, as always, beautifully balance darkness and a joy for life - but these were specifically about remembering a friend who’s passed, as so many across the world will do for Glen. I’ve been a fan forever - since the Commitments and Once - which directly inspired Come From Away - and getting to work together and hang with him and Mar after a Swell Season concert was a true joy. I’d only recently put off a trip to work with him in Ireland - he’d been excited to go see music, play music and share his country which he loved so much. Life is too short and too sudden and too sad sometimes. RIP by @sankoffandhein

My first San Diego Comic-Con was SO COOL (in the geekiest, best way) - but the highlight was 💯 tagging along while our friend, Bill Prady, launched his new show! STUART FAILS TO SAVE THE UNIVERSE is a wildly brilliant, hilarious spinoff from The Big Bang Theory - and experiencing it with sweet friends and a league of thousands of extraordinary nerds was just wonderful. by @sankoffandhein

Come From Away was created with students, so it’s been incredible to see it performed again with them here at @schoolplay @thespiansociety - and to see it performed so beautifully with a truly amazing cast, crew, band and an audience of thousands of theatre kids gave us so much hope for the future! Thrilled for more student productions to come from @mtishows. 🎭💙💛 by @sankoffandhein

Where new musicals start, in basic boring rehearsal rooms. But what isn’t basic or boring is the incredible talent, heart & belief in this story from everyone involved, and the wonderful generosity and support from Goodspeed Musicals! Massive thanks to all! #Vienna by @sankoffandhein
