I’m always so grateful to be welcomed into the homes and spaces of families, to be invited into their everyday lives, and to document the little things that make their time together so special.

I’ve always loved photographing the things families do together. The routines, the laughter, the little personalities, the songs they sing, and the moments that might seem ordinary now, but will mean so much more with time. I’m all for a few posed photos here and there, but there’s something so special about the candid moments. The ones that unfold naturally, when everyone is simply being themselves and enjoying each other’s company.

Growing up, I spent so much time looking through physical prints and family albums. There’s an indescribable kind of happiness in coming across an old photo and suddenly remembering how something felt, hearing the laughter in your head, or being reminded of a moment you might have otherwise forgotten. It’s a feeling I hope to give back to the families who invite me in.

I want these photographs to be little touchpoints throughout their lives. Photos they can return to years from now and say, “I remember that piano. I remember when Mommy used to play ‘Old MacDonald’ for us.” Pauline and Ethan will always have these moments to look back on and remember just how much Donovan loved singing and dancing along to it.

Because one day, these little everyday moments will become the memories they hold closest. And if a photograph can bring back that feeling, that warmth, that smile, and a little piece of what life felt like back then, then I think that’s one of the most beautiful things a photograph can do.

Thank you to the families who trust me to document these parts of their lives. It’s something I’ll never take for granted.

“Did Japan change you?”

I don’t know if Japan changed me.

I think it gave me the space to notice what already mattered.

I fkn love being there. The places were beautiful, but when I look back, it’s the people I remember first.

The conversations between train rides. The shared meals after long days. Laughing over things that probably wouldn’t make sense to anyone else. Quiet walks where no one felt the need to fill the silence.

Travel has a way of stripping life down to the essentials. There are no routines to hide behind, no distractions pulling everyone in different directions. Just people experiencing something new together, one moment at a time.

I came home with photographs, but I also came home with stronger friendships. The places will be there. What made them unforgettable was who I experienced them with.

And for that, I’ll always be grateful.

Not because Japan gave me something I didn’t have—
but because it reminded me that some of life’s greatest souvenirs aren’t things you bring home. They’re the relationships that quietly grow while you’re busy admiring the world together.

“Would you go back though?”

Shhhiiiii. Without a second thought.

Persimmons picked from our tree.

Time really does move so quickly. I rarely even look over at this tree since it sits off to the side, almost easy to overlook. But standing there, picking its fruit, made me realize how much has changed and how quickly we’re approaching the end of another year.

Funny how the things we see every day can quietly remind us to slow down, pay attention and appreciate these quiet moments. by @sannieceleridad

—————————————————————————————————Makes me really happy whenever I run into old friends I haven’t seen in a very long time, especially when I find out they’re doing something they genuinely love. Hearing the story of how it all came to be and how passionate they were to chase it really inspires me.

I’ve known @alanpham since high school. We shared a lot of mutual friends and also crossed paths through skateboarding. @triciajoy_ has been slowly filling her arm with tattoos that represent her family, so when she told me she found the artist she wanted, I was seriously shocked, but also so hyped to hear that she was getting it done with Alan.

One thing I’ve always appreciated about seeing old friends is how quickly you can pick right back up as if no time has passed. No awkward catching up, no missed beat. It just feels like hanging out again.

I’m always mesmerized whenever I see people in their element, especially when they really lock in. There’s something I can’t help but admire and respect about watching someone fully present in their craft and in their own space.

Whenever you get the chance, keep taking photos of your friends, your family, the people who matter to you. As corny as it might sound, this is my love language. I know not everyone likes being in front of the camera, myself included, but these small, quiet gestures are my way of showing how much you mean to me.

I don’t always notice how long someone has been in my life until I’m asked to remember how we met or when it all began.

Some relationships drift away and naturally fade when our paths no longer cross. There’s a subtle ache in that, a reminder of how impermanent things can be. And then there are the connections that persist, keep pace, moving with us through seasons, through eras of who we are. With them, I feel a stillness, a sense that some things are meant to remain and meant to grow.

Lately, I’ve stopped questioning it. Instead I stay present, to hold what remains, to be here for as long as life allows and choose to love while I can.

There’s something about being on set and how different people, different roles, all move toward the same feeling. A clear direction held everything together, and the rest fill in the space with intention. Love it.
