this sketch inspired by a lovely saturday afternoon, and this song Mediodía. I first felt this song walking through 🌲El Bosque de Chapultepec in Mexico City, and again felt it at Central Market. Kids running, a pigeon feasting on an abandoned pizza, the stained-glass leaves🍃. Enjoy a Sábado this weekend💚 by @sarafromchicago

An old man named Simeon said these words as he looked at newborn Jesus in the temple, the best day of his life, beyond words.

After seeing much in this life it was Simeon’s time to leave this earth, yet the God was so generous to let Simeon see His promise of ages fulfilled. The One who made all, the One who would chase after us in love, the One who stuck to His word by sacrificing His own life for us, and the One who would free us from darkness and bring us to be with Him forever. His arrival.

And Simeon saw Jesus with his own eyes.

Wow.

We know Jesus. He’s been revealed to us. Our Savior.

Thank you, Lord.
