A big thank you to the team at Jovoy Mayfair who invited us to do the window at their boutique on Conduit Street.

For the display, we decided to feature bestseller 𝙿𝚎𝚊𝚌𝚑’𝚜 𝚁𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚗𝚐𝚎. We created an installation that highlights the storytelling aspect of our house, and the screenplays that are included in the presentation boxes of our fragrances.

We blew up a page from the Peach’s Revenge script as a backdrop. The bottles themselves stand on piles of scripts. And, a customised old-fashioned typewriter visually evokes the creative frenzy of a writers’ room in one of the movie studios of Hollywood’s golden era. It was cool to see passers by who stopped to read the script.

Come by Jovoy Mayfair to smell our perfumes, and chat with the sales staff, they are all so knowledgeable and friendly.

Last week saw a world premiere: the first ever scented staged reading of a script by Sarah Baker Studios.

Our press event at Jovoy Mayfair to celebrate Peach’s Revenge Extrait de Parfum offered the perfect opportunity to bring the script for Peach’s Revenge that comes in the luxury presentation box to life.

With a cast of four fantastic professional actors—Dylan Corbett-Bader, Katarina Fuller, Joseph Kloska and Katie Puckrik—and specially composed music, we presented the dastardly tale of Peach’s Revenge to a delighted audience. Here’s a little taster of the evening’s experience.

“There are works which underline the everlasting motif of subjectified women while reflecting on contemporary society’s expectation of perfection and the ideal. There are images of women of a particular social class who are also part of a system of representation in magazine images and high life blogs. In the clothes and shoes these women wear, they exemplify sexist assumptions that are found in different ways across the entire social structure. They remind us that sexualised images are still at the apex of a wider structure of exchanges and that the immediate circle of people around know this, and don't appear to care. There is a familiar commodification of the female body, but explored through a combination of images and objects that refocus the issue.”

Halloween 2021. Our son wanted to be in a coffin so my husband (artist Andy Hsu) constructed it. I put the final touches: hair and makeup and flowers.

It is absolutely the scariest costume I have ever seen.

He got lots of love on the streets in Hackney though. Lots of folks wanting to take his photo or be photographed with him.

(REGLAM) As Laura Palmer, 2011.

For the Saatchi Gallery Art and Music Magazine.

This commission followed a discussion about DVD box sets for the David Lynch issue. The discussion with Paul Purgas, David Watkins, myself, and led by Cedar Lewisohn took it's starting point at Twin Peaks raising of the bar for episodic television shows, and how it inspired countless TV dramas since it first aired in 1990.

I was asked to participate in the DVD box set discussion due to my Dynasty expertise. And still to me Alexis Carrington of Dynasty wins for female ground-breaking ass-kicking territory.
But I think about Laura Palmer's mystique continually, and Lynch's brilliant construction of her elusive back story. I was told once that I look like her by @sebpatane back in 2001. I had just moved to London and I think I must have been gleaming Americanism.
