There’s an ocean at MECCA!

Artists Cindy Ingram and Sarah Breinig have brought their underwater creatures to life for one more special appearance. Come check out a sampling of the “In Depth”, immersive art installation created almost entirely of household recycled materials. A cardboard octobus, a paper mache eye ball fish and a disco angler will greet you at the door. You can even hug a fish with mannequin arms!

Last week my friend Sarah and I had a pop up art show featuring an immersive, ocean themed installation. Music in my front yard, artist booths along the side, and a portal into an underwater world made out of trash, in the basement. Thank you to everyone who joined in with your time and support.

I guess they call this a proof of concept. I'm ready do it it again, but WAY bigger. Stay tuned.

My friend, @cindy.ingram.art , and I spent the last 2 months making an underwater immersive art installation in a basement. This last Saturday, we got to see that labor of love come to fruition and be experienced by our community during @eugeneporchfest . There was live music all day, artists selling their wares, aerial performers dancing in the sky, and so much good people stuff ✨ Thank you to everyone that came out to see what we put together - the experience was overwhelmingly positive, and my heart has been bursting since 🥰

Cindy is a powerhouse of community building and creativity, and I am so grateful to have had the privilege of working with her on this project.

We had a whaley good time at @cindy.ingram.art and @sarahbmakingart’s immersive art exhibit, “In Depth.” 🤩 What a labor of love! It was an official Eugene Porchfest event, so live music most of the day. It was one day only, but I bet she’s already dreaming of her next one. 💜🐳

For one day only- Saturday, Aug 1, in Eugene, Oregon, a regular residential basement where one might do their laundry, an ocean will appear. Created by Artistic Directors @sarahbmakingart and @cindy.ingram.art and Sound Designer, @donhaugen an immersive, ocean themed art installation blurs the line between reality and aquatic dreams. Inspired by @meow__wolf and in support of @eugeneporchfest , trash art comes alive for the entire community to enjoy. Swim on by 1864 Moss st. 10am-7pm. Come on in. The water is fine.

Come get down with us! You won’t want to miss what we’ve put together 🎣 there an angler fish setting the vibes on the dance floor, an octopus coming out of the laundry, a giant mama fish looking for a hug, and so much more!

Along with the immersive ocean themed art installation, we will be hosting various musicians as part of Porch Fest from 12 pm to 7 pm, as well as hosting an art market featuring local Oregonian makers. Can’t wait to see y’all there! taken in Eugene, Oregon by @sarahbmakingart
