Material, light, and the space between.

Meet @sarahlesher, resident artist at @thestanleybldg. Her paintings, prints, and sculptural objects are made from limewash, hempcrete, stone, ceramic, and wood, with one intention: to create an inner experience of calm.

Subtle color. Ethereal texture. Negative space as part of the work. All from a studio high above the Flower Market.

A few new, smaller alabaster candle holders are available for pre-order. Each one is hand-carved from translucent Spanish alabaster, with two smooth sides and a raw, natural edge. When lit, the whole stone glows.

Pre-order pricing:
Small (tea light): $250
Medium (tea light + taper): $300
Set of both: $500

Prices go up after the pre-order ends.

Candles are included, with free shipping to the US and Canada.

Alabaster table lamp, available through @atelier13.la

Hand carved from a single block of stone from Anza-Borrego. The only power tool I used was a drill to make the holes for the lighting components.

If you’ve known me for a while, then you know how much I love to drive somewhere far away into nature on a whim.

This summer @noodle_baguette and I drove to Utah to see Bryce Canyon, swim in an orange lake, and pick up 300 pounds of gorgeous Alabaster.
