When you look forward to the board mtg because you get to wear the jacket. And love me a statement anything (jacket, pants, shoes, top) because you can keep the rest of the outfit simple.

If shopping were an Olympic sport, I would probably podium 😂.

These are the many things I am loving this fall and will probably wear all season (and will probably buy more variations of them) (*earmuffs, Chris*). Did not include anything that I have gotten that are one-offs or can't be purchased.

Comment if you want links. Trying to organize them for those of you who have asked in the past.

Whenever I am asked why I love fashion so much, my why is-- it is one of the few liberating times when, as a die-hard "3", I don't find myself looking to "achieve" or do. I can just be, exercise my own individuality, find relief and joy in the pursuit of creativity and self expression and most importantly, have fun. No rules applied, no medals to win, no accolades to seek.

Just be ❤️.

Never give an emptynester an @ullajohnson dress, a beautiful bathroom mirror and 30 minutes to spare before dinner. And note to self, these are butterflies not seashells on the dress.

Well, that was hard.

My 3rd 70.3 Ironman. While I did end up achieving top 9 in my AG (yes to aging up!), I struggled more than I had thought I would.

Truth be told, I didn't think I would even be able to fit in a 70.3 race this season. With Tristin and Bella leaving and work getting busy, I knew my focus was on family and work. So the fact that I got this in was a win.

My learnings:

1) Control what you can control.
After the downriver swim, I struggled to warm up despite my emergency blanket placed in my Tri suit and for the first 30 miles, I was shaking profusely as I was pedaling as hard as I could. I couldn't take in any water and nutrition because I was so cold. It didn't help that my bike computer fell off and I had to put it in the same pocket as my nutrition. While part of me was panicking, I focused on controlling what I could control-- regulating my breath and focusing on what I could control: my mindset, my bike handling, my speed. Thankfully, after about 30 miles, I slowly warmed up and was able to take in water and some gels and was able to enjoy the rest of the ride.

2) Gratitude is the gift.
Off the bike, I felt strong for the first 6 miles. Then, I saw myself falling apart. My quads started aching, my feet burning. I could feel my mental state spiraling. I had trained so hard to be a stronger runner and here I was, wanting so badly to stop. What was wrong with me. Where was my grit. It was at that moment, I told myself for every negative thought, I had to replace it with two positive thoughts- one gratitude prayer for someone/something and one personal cheer. And that was how I fought through the last 7 miles and managed to mentally stay focused. That and chugging coke at every aid station.

3) Friends at the finish line.
This sport has given me the gift of incredible female friendships with so many badass women. Who knew that I could find kindred spirits who come from different life journeys and experiences but share the same drive, passion and core values? I left this weekend with my heart so full.

I heard someone say- it's not about crossing the finish line, it's about the person you become when you get there.❤️ taken in Tri Cities, Washington by @saritacho
