I had to say goodbye to my Soul Sister today.
My Sweetheart.
My Constant.

Kashmir was by my side for 16 years. She was an empath who provided unwavering love and support during difficult times. Her intuitive nature meant that she was always nearby if she sensed that I was not okay. I could lend her my gaze and she would just know that I needed her comfort and company. Our bond was that of sisters.

While she showered me in love during the difficult times, she did, as well, for the all the good times. She moved through her days with a purity that only a soul of hers could create. Her boundless obsession with tissue paper, fly swatters, water, and her garden oasis, never faltered. Her excitement for each was enough to make any trivial thing seem small and petty.

Through her recent and rapid decline in health, she taught me the value of being present. Through her struggles, she continued to stay right there, nearby, as always. I learned quickly how important it is to stand strongly in every moment. Time does not wait and you cannot predict what is to come.

In her final days, she became the epitome of love and strength. She did her best to take part in some of the things that we would normally do. I am so proud of her bravery, as I can only imagine how unsettled she must have felt deep down.

Kash was the embodiment of all that I carry within me but have been too cautious to become fully. Her curiosity, joy, love, and strong sense of self was unwavering. It is what made being within her presence so undeniably special. In her honour, I will practice stepping more fully into these qualities.

Kashi, I had hoped that the sun would come out for you today for your final stroll through the garden. Despite the rain, and your disdain for it, you stepped outside with the courage you so strongly carried during your final weeks with us. I will love you endlessly and constantly, just the same as you did me. While I am writing this, the clouds are beginning to part. I know you are responsible for this because you always brought a little bit of sunshine along with you by @sarraaac
