The sense of pride I have watching my sister live out her dream of playing pro soccer is indescribable. So wildly cool to have had a front row seat to everything it actually takes for someone get to this point. It’s true that dreams are made when no one is watching. The hours upon hours that turned into years upon years of training and tournaments, the injuries and setbacks, the many great (and not-so great) coaches and trainers, always juggling the ball around the house, everything you had to miss out on (including your last semester in college right now), all the times you did the beep test in the driveway, it’s all led you to this. I’m as proud as can be seeing you achieve this goal, but even prouder of all that it’s taken for you to get here and who you are as a result of it. If only that ball girl on the sidelines of my games knew she would be here one day and little did she know I’ve been the one looking up to her this whole time ❤️ taken in Houston, Texas by @sass.ashmore

1️⃣!!!! A year full of drastic hair transformations, the biggest baby feet ever, open mouth kisses, the chillest yet silliest personality, a constant messy house, hanging out with a mini version of my husband all day, dancing to music during meals and the Bluey theme song on the daily, being too overwhelmed to remember to take these milestone pics some months, seeing the world through a brighter lens and just having so. so. so. much fun.

Somehow, a year whizzed by since this boy forever changed our lives. When those nurses (literal angels on earth) put him on my chest, time stood still. The world paused. The world was suddenly in my two arms. He instantly stopped crying and looked up at me adoringly for what felt like forever, as if he was so happy to finally be putting the face to the voice. He’s been my best friend ever since ❤️ I thought I would be sad that he’s one already buuuut he’s keeping me too busy 🏃😅 so no time for that!!

*also just adding a quick disclaimer that I do not want this to over-glorify/ glamorize my birth experience bc it was NOT all sunshine and rainbows like the words above may make it seem— overall, it was far from that and I just respect when people are real about it. Just choosing to share that positive part in this moment because this occasion calls for some happy! by @sass.ashmore
