15 years ago today, on September 9, 2011, the Broadway community gathered in Duffy Square, located in the northern part of Times Square, to pay tribute to New York City with a heartfelt rendition of the Kander and Ebb classic “New York, New York” commemorating the tenth anniversary 9/11. This iconic song had previously echoed through the streets in the days after the September 11 attacks in 2001, serving as a beacon of hope and resilience during a time of profound loss.
.
Coming together 10 years later to share this performance was inspired by- and in support of- the not-for-profit 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance, highlighting the importance of community in times of sorrow. It was an emotional afternoon with a beautiful sense of unity that is so needed in the world right now.

This week a new adventure begins…Welcome (Back) To The Rock! 💙✈️
.
I’m pleased to have joined the Stages St. Louis production of this AlénaWattersrue story of 7,000 stranded airline passengers and the small town(s) in Newfoundland that opened its doors to them on September 11, 2001 and the days to follow. This musical is a powerful, deeply moving celebration of community, kindness, and the best of humanity during a dark time. We all need reminders right now about the importance of our shared humanity and connection.

I’m still digesting the experience and challenge of playing Diana in Next To Normal at @denvercenter . It was the heaviest emotional/vocal “lift” of my career thus far, and I feel deep gratitude for the challenge, the experience; for the wonderful colleagues and the beautiful storytelling we crafted together - and for having someone I knew at nearly every performance, wow!
.
I feel proud of myself for growing as an artist with this piece; and for that artistic growth happening back in Colorado, my home state, where I grew up as a young artist…it feels like a full circle moment of sorts as I continue diving head first into the responsibilities of this era as a principal artist. Thank you for having me back to share a story that has sparked important community conversations and- from what I heard from so many audience members- made people feel less alone. Thank you for having me back home, Colorado.
.
And thank you DCPA Running Crew (Sounds/Lights/Wardrobe/Hair/Props & beyond) for making this show possible and even fun through the depths of the show themes, with your wonderful support- you are appreciated!!!

Today I celebrate four years of knowing and loving this man - my love, Rodrigo Gavino.
.
We’ve managed to navigate four years of long distance… flying back and forth across the country from New York to Seattle and all the places in between where my work has taken me, along with his Florida work relocation.
.
Sustaining connection while living our separate dreams across the country- and now still in different states but homes in the same time zone has been a challenge for two predominantly tactile people; and we continue to work together to grow and connect and expand our love and care for one another.
.
I’m grateful to have you by my side cheering me on and loving me, “meow amor”. Thank you for all the work you’ve been doing to expand yourself as a human, and supporting me to expand so that we can continue to grow and be the best people we can be for ourselves and each other. Te amo muito amorzinho carinhoso, lindoso, sexoso, amoroso, Rodrigostoso! Feliz aniversário de namoro. by @sassballchange
