🍔They say the best decisions you’ll ever make in life are the ones that scare you the most and these smashburgers are no exception. I will never forget the first day I made these burgers at home - my wife came home and immediately left because the whole house smelled like seared meat - and she wasn’t wrong. I was in there cooking for hours and never turned the vent hood on or opened a window 😂

🙋‍♂️Idk if y’all know this about our Northlake location — but we only sell CHICAGO TAVERN STYLES over here - and it’s a creation you’ll only find here with us - every single one of our crust gets a cornmeal and cracked black pepper dusting before it hits the oven, then we cover it with with our house-made sauce and freshly shredded mozzarella. That means nothing but homegrown recipes and no shortcuts.

💯Also - tavern style means we serve nothing but thin and crispy pies cut into squares - the way every pizza should be.

👉 And Idk if y’all know this but @hilltoptruckpark, which is mainly outdoors, somehow has some of the coldest beer in town - and we are like 10 steps away from their amazing bar.

Y’all come by next time you’re in town!

🙌 I’ve said it before, and I don’t mean to say it again, but the people that say they have smashburgers, or the people that put smashburgers on their menu and don’t actually smash them,,, it’s honestly disrespectful to people like me who truly have a love for true smashburgers.

And the love for the way they made them back in the day - the way that history has said they are supposed to be.

💯If you go to a place in Grapevine, Argyle, Justin, Northlake, Dallas, Plano, or even Oklahoma that says they serve smashburgers and it doesn’t look like this, you are getting gypped.

🇺🇸 Our burgers have 8 ounces of Texas raised beef, two slices of American cheese, a quarter cup of onions & about 3 ounces of homemade sauce + pickles on top and bottom.
— This is the way smash burgers are supposed to go, and I haven’t even started talking about our grilled garlic buttered Hawaiian buns.

👉 If you’ve had a smashburger before and didn’t like it, I implore you to come and try ours. If you’ve had a smashburger before and you loved it, I still encourage you to come and try ours.

🍔 NATIONAL CHEESEBURGER DAY 🍔

This day holds a special place for us because we never set out to become a burger joint. We did ONLY pizza for our first 4 years and one day I realized I wasn’t serving all of why I opened a restaurant in the first place.
•

My dad and my grandfather hounded me and my brother about putting burgers on the menu … daily. And for some reason we never followed through ,,, until , honestly, we had no other choice.
•
•
My grandfather never got the chance to try one of our burgers but I know he would’ve loved these things.
•
•
If you get the chance today - go get a burger with someone you love. It doesn’t have to be ours - but go experience one of the great American classics.
•

Sauce’d at Hilltop Truck Park in Northlake is the food truck version of their brick-and-mortar in Grapevine, and they are slinging some of the best grub they’ve got on the menu.

Hilltop is a food truck park with a bar at its center complete with televisions and a stage for performances as well as a large play area for children. Around its perimeter sit 10+ food trucks.

Sauce’d is the truck closest to the play area, and for a pizza joint, they have one of the best smashburgers in North Texas. You can also order personal tavern style pies that are made from scratch every day.

🍕 THIN. CRISPY. CUT INTO SQUARES. 🟥

Meet our Tavern Style Pizza.

We let the dough cold ferment for 4 - 5 days, roll it thin, sauce it edge-to-edge, and bake it until the bottom has that crack we’re looking for.

No folding required.

Just crispy edges, homemade sauce, hand shredded mozz, and 12 little squares that somehow convince you eating 12 of them doesn’t count as eating 12 pieces of pizza.

Come up to @hilltoptruckpark , Grab a cold beer. Order one for the table.

Then order another because the first one disappeared.
