POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

At 8:52 AM 12/4, reports came in of a trespasser on the side of a cliff in the 600 block of K Street.
First responders located an individual partwav down the cliffside. Firefighters requested assistance from the San Diego County Sheriff after noticing the person was holding a piece of rebar.
Firemen made contact, but backed away when the individual began swinging the rebar toward them. The man eventually jumped from the cliffside, stumbling into the ocean, where deputies were able to safely detain him and evaluate him for injuries. It is believed the person may have been experiencing a mental health or drug-induced episode. #encinitas #sandiego #california #help #northcounty #daily #coastal #rescue #fd #fire #socal #beach #sand #swim #away #mental #health taken in Encinitas, California by @saveencinitasnow

A 76-year old man whose vehicle went over a cliff and into the water in the La Jolla Cove area Tuesday night was pronounced dead at the hospital, SDPD said. The crash was reported off Coast Boulevard near La Jolla Cove just after 8 p.m. A Marine Safety lieutenant with SDFD said six lifeguards helped pull the man out of the vehicle within 13 minutes of getting the 911 call. #sandiego #california #lajolla #sd #coastal #beach #city #socal #oc #encinitas #crash #accident #pd #lifeguard #igdaily #daily #delmar #carlsbad #oceanside #ocean taken in La Jolla Cove by @saveencinitasnow

Our favorites of the crazies are the ones who don't even live in Encinitas anymore, yet they still take time on Wednesday night to put their madness on full display in front of our Mayor & City Council. The candidates this group is endorsing: Viskanta, Golden & Lefkowits should be deeply embarrassed by their biggest supporters (as well as by the developers working to get them elected). #encinitas #sandiego #california #beach #city taken in Encinitas, California by @saveencinitasnow

The Biggest developer in Encinitas is Brian Grover/Nolen Communities. They are behind Fox Point Farms (250 units), Sunshine Gardens (140 units), Piraeus Point (134 units), Camino Condos (87), The Preserve (34 homes on the last hiking trails we have off Manchester), etc. They donated to Blakespear because SHE & her candidates of choice are the most certain path to further densify Encinitas. (And the @coastnews or @sandiegouniontribune should do an expose on the relationship between this developer and Blakespear's husband.) #encinitas #sandiego #california #stop #building taken in Encinitas, California by @saveencinitasnow

If you are going to cast your vote for a particular candidate, you may want to do your homework on the work history of that candidate. Just a thought. #encinitas #sandiego #california #beach #city taken in Encinitas, California by @saveencinitasnow

The beauty of our democracy is that we collectively get to choose who governs us. On a local level, that means putting people in office who prioritize the city and its residents and NOT their own agendas. We have had that type of governance over the last two years, and it shows across Encinitas in every measurable way. Only Joy Lyndes (D3), the last Blakespear crony at City Hall, has voted against parks, voted for policies that would add to our homeless population, and hasn't supported the enforcement of laws. Fortunately, she's not running again - but there are three candidates like her who would love to get into City Hall to push their agendas. Catherine Blakespear would like them to be there too. If you care about Encinitas being a place that is safe, protected and a great place for families and visitors alike, Bruce Ehlers, Marco San Antonio and Ed Sprague are the obvious choices. All of us should want Encinitas to continue moving in the direction that it has over the last two years and we get to decide at the polls if we go forward or backward. #encinitas #sandiego #california #beach #city taken in Encinitas, California by @saveencinitasnow

Catherine Blakespear ran for Mayor of Encinitas on a platform of preserving it. Shortly after she was elected, she pulled a now famous switcheroo on the residents. She up-zoned sites all around the city, giving developers the ability to throw untenable apartment density all around Encinitas "by right." Using Encinitas as a stepping stool, she was elected state Senator before Encinitas started feeling the impact of the overdevelopment she enabled. The full effect is yet to be felt. The Attorney General's office should look into the relationship between her husband and the developer who "coincidentally" owned and helped develop most of these parcels. Fact: Catherine Blakespear is a morally corrupt liar. Her dismal record on density is on display all around the city of Encinitas every day. #encinitas #sandiego #california #socal #daily taken in Encinitas, California by @saveencinitasnow

It appears Rimga's supporters aren't very tolerant of her opposition. PSA: Campaign signs are private property, and damaging, removing, painting over, or otherwise defacing them without permission can constitute vandalism or theft under California law. Political disagreement does not give anyone the right to destroy or alter another person’s property, and those responsible may face criminal penalties. #encinitas #sandiego #california #beach #help taken in Encinitas, California by @saveencinitasnow
